Abstract
Perpustakaan Nasional RI mengalihmediakan koleksi langka ke dalam bentuk mikrofilm sebagai upaya preservasi sekaligus penyediaan akses informasi. Koleksi mikrofilm ini dimanfaatkan oleh berbagai kalangan pemustaka, seperti akademisi, peneliti, jurnalis, praktisi hukum, hingga peneliti asing. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemanfaatan koleksi mikrofilm serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat pemanfaatannya di Perpustakaan Nasional RI. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa koleksi mikrofilm dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber informasi primer untuk kebutuhan penelitian, penulisan karya ilmiah, penyusunan buku, peliputan berita, dan pembuktian hukum. Pemanfaatan koleksi ini dipengaruhi oleh keunikan dan kelangkaan koleksi, peran pustakawan sebagai mediator informasi, serta kenyamanan ruang baca. Namun, terdapat hambatan berupa pembatasan jumlah akses koleksi per hari, keterbatasan alat baca, serta biaya penggandaan. Selain itu, ditemukan perbedaan pola pemanfaatan antara pemustaka dalam negeri dan peneliti asing, di mana peneliti asing menunjukkan intensitas penggunaan dan strategi dokumentasi yang lebih tinggi. Kata Kunci: Pemanfaatan Koleksi, Mikrofilm, Perpusnas RI The National Library of Indonesia has digitized its rare collections into microfilm as part of its efforts to preserve them and provide access to information. This microfilm collection is utilized by a wide range of users, including academics, researchers, journalists, legal practitioners, and foreign researchers. This study aims to describe the utilization of the microfilm collection and to identify the factors that support and hinder its utilization at the National Library of Indonesia. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method, utilizing data collection techniques such as interviews, observation, documentation, and literature review. The results indicate that the microfilm collection is utilized as a primary information source for research, writing academic papers, book compilation, news reporting, and legal evidence. The utilization of this collection is influenced by the uniqueness and rarity of the materials, the role of librarians as information mediators, and the comfort of the reading room. However, there are obstacles in the form of daily access limits, a shortage of reading devices, and duplication costs. Additionally, differences in usage patterns were found between domestic patrons and foreign researchers, with foreign researchers demonstrating higher usage intensity and more advanced documentation strategies.
