Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) pada peserta didik kelas IV di SD Negeri 02 Banarjoyo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui (1) pengaruh penggunaan media audio visual terhadap pemahaman konsep IPAS peserta didik sekolah dasar, dan (2) perbedaan pemahaman konsep peserta didik yang menggunakan media audio visual gerak dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan media audio visual diam. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IV di SD Negeri 02 Banarjoyo yang berjumlah 40 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling, dengan ukuran sampel sebanyak 40 peserta didik yang terdiri dari kelas IVA sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas IVB sebagai kelas eksperimen, di mana masing-masing kelas berjumlah 20 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi instrumen tes dan non-tes. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji-t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dari penggunaan media audio-visual terhadap pemahaman konsep IPAS (sig. 0,000 < 0,05) dan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara media audio-visual gerak dan media audio-visual diam terhadap pemahaman konsep IPAS (sig. 0,000 < 0,05). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah: (1) terdapat pengaruh penggunaan media audio visual terhadap pemahaman konsep IPAS peserta didik sekolah dasar; (2) terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep peserta didik yang menggunakan media audio visual gerak dengan peserta didik yang menggunakan media audio visual diam. Kata Kunci: IPAS, media audio visual, pemahaman konsep. The problem in this study was the low understanding of the concept of science and natural sciences of grade IV students of SD Negeri 02 Banarjoyo. This study aimed to determine (1) the effect of the use of audio-visual media on the understanding of the concept of science and natural sciences of elementary school students, and (2) the difference in the understanding of the concept of students who used moving audio-visual media with students who used still audio-visual media. The study population was all grade IV students of SD Negeri 02 Banarjoyo with a total of 40 students. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique, with class IVA as the control class and class IVB as the experimental class, each consisting of 20 students. Data collection techniques used tests and non-tests. Hypothesis testing used the T-test formula. The results of the study showed a significant effect of the use of audio-visual media on the understanding of the concept of science and natural sciences (sig. 0.000 < 0.05) and there was a significant difference between moving audio-visual media and still audio-visual media on the understanding of the concept of science and natural sciences (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). The conclusion from the results of this study was that: (1) there was an influence of the use of audio-visual media on the understanding of science concepts in elementary school students; and (2) there was a difference in the understanding of concepts between students who used moving audio-visual media and students who used still audio-visual media.
