Abstract
Produksi lele mutiara (Clarias gariepinus) di Kabupaten Pringsewu menunjukkan adanya peningkatan. Meskipun produksi meningkat, kegiatan budi daya lele masih menghadapi berbagai kendala, salah satunya adalah serangan penyakit infeksi seperti endoparasit. Gejala yang ditimbulkan meliputi pembengkakan, iritasi, tubuh tampak kurus, dan adanya cacing yang menempel di dinding organ usus, dan lambung. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengidentifikasi jenis endoparasit dan menganalisis nilai prevalensi, intensitas, dan dominansi pada lele mutiara pada kolam yang berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode survei dan pengambilan sampel secara langsung terhadap 118 ekor ikan yang diambil dari lima petani ikan. Organ yang diamati lambung dan usus. Hasil identifikasi menunjukkan bahwa endoparasit yang menginfeksi yaitu Bothriocephalus sp. Persentase ikan yang terinfeksi parasit lebih tinggi pada lele mutiara betina (61,56%) dibandingkan jantan (38,46%). Nilai prevalensi tertinggi sebesar 35% termasuk kriteria umum, dengan intensitas tertinggi sebesar 2,14 ind/ekor yang tergolong kriteria rendah. Nilai dominansi menunjukkan bahwa Bothriocephalus sp. merupakan spesies yang mendominasi endoparasit pada budi daya lele. Petani ikan dapat melapisi atau mengganti dasar kolam tanah dengan terpal atau beton untuk mengurangi keberadaan organisme perantara sehingga menekan penularan parasit dan meningkatkan kebersihan lingkungan budi daya. Kata kunci: Bothriocephalus sp., Dominansi, Endoparasit, Intensitas, Lele mutiara, Prevalensi Production of African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) in Pringsewu Regency shows an increase. Even though production has increase, African catfish farming activities still face various obstacles, one of which is attacks by infectious diseases such as endoparasite. Symptoms include swelling, reddish irritation, body looks thin, and presence of worms attached to walls of intestines and stomach. Aimed of research is to identify type of endoparasite and analyze prevalence, intensity and dominance values of African catfish within ponds. Research was carried out using a survey method and direct sampling of 118 fishes taken from five ponds. Organs observed were the stomach and intestine. Identification result showed that endoparasite of Bothriocephalus sp. infected African catfish. Percentage of fish infected with parasites was higher in female (61.56%) compared to male (38.46%). Highest prevalence value was 35%, including general criteria, with highest intensity of 2.14 ind/fish which was classified as low criteria. Dominance value showed that Bothriocephalus sp. is species dominates endoparasite on African catfish. Fish farmers can line or replace bottom of earthen ponds with tarpaulin or concrete to reduce presence of intermediary organisms, thereby suppressing parasite transmission and improving clean environment.
