Abstract

Kesenjangan antara kemampuan literasi matematis yang diharapkan dengan kemampuan yang dimiliki siswa disebabkan oleh kesulitan siswa dalam mengungkapkan ide, menyusun strategi penyelesaian, dan menyajikan solusi matematika secara tertulis. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain pretest-posttest control group. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 14 Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2025/2026, dengan sampel yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling, yaitu kelas VIII.F sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VIII.G sebagai kelas kontrol. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes kemampuan literasi matematis yang meliputi indikator merumuskan masalah, menggunakan konsep dan prosedur matematika, serta menafsirkan hasil. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Mann- Whitney U skor peningkatan (gain). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan literasi matematis siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan model problem based learning lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, model problem based learning memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan literasi matematis siswa. Kata kunci: kemampuan literasi matematis, pengaruh, problem based learning The gap between expected and actual mathematical literacy skills stems from students' difficulties in expressing ideas, formulating solution strategies, and presenting mathematical solutions in writing. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model on students' mathematical literacy skills.This research aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on students' mathematical literacy abilities. This research uses a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research population was all class VIII students at SMP Negeri 14 Bandar Lampung for the 2025/2026 academic year, with samples selected using cluster random sampling techniques, namely class VIII.F as the experimental class and VIII.G as the control class. Data collection was carried out through a mathematical literacy ability test which included indicators of describing problems, using mathematical concepts and procedures, and interpreting results. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test for gain scores. The results of the research show that the increase in mathematical literacy skills of students who take part in learning using the problem based learning model is higher than that of students who take part in conventional learning. Thus, the problem-based learning model has a positive influence on students' mathematical literacy abilities. Keywords: mathematical literacy skills, effect, problem based learning
