Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) mengetahui perubahan kualitas fisik dan kadar air pada wafer ransum limbah pertanian yang disimpan dalam rentang waktu yang berbeda; 2) mengetahui waktu penyimpanan yang paling efektif pada wafer limbah pertanian tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2014 sampai November 2014 di Desa Banjar Baru, Kecamatan Sukau, Kabupaten Lampung Barat dan di Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Universitas Lampung. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan masa simpan (0, 2, 4, dan 6 minggu) dan 4 kali ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam pada taraf nyata 5% dan atau 1%. Apabila hasil analisis didapat peubah yang nyata dan atau sangat nyata maka dilanjutkan uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) pada taraf 5% dan atau 1% yang terencana untuk membandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa wafer dengan penyimpanan yang berbeda berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kadar air, tekstur, dan aroma, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap warna wafer. Rata – rata kandungan kadar air wafer limbah pertanian berbasis wortel setelah disimpan selama enam minggu sebesar 42,23 %, sehingga tidak terdapat masa simpan terbaik karena kandungan kadar air wafer limbah pertanian berbasis wortel melebihi standar kadar air bahan pakan yang akan disimpan yaitu 14%. Kata kunci : (Wafer, Limbah pertanian, Kadar air, Tekstur, Warna, Aroma) The aim of this research is to find 1) the changes of physical quality and water content on wafer of agricultural waste were kept in a range of different times; 2) the most effective time for savings an wafer of agricultural waste. The research was conducted in September-November 2014 in Banjar Baru Villages, Sukau Subdistrict, West Lampung and in the Laboratory of Nutrition and Feed Livestock, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This research used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments by saving the wafer for 0 week, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks with four repetition. Data were analyzed with Analysis of Varians and continued with Least Significant Difference Test (LSD) 0,01 or 0,05. The result of this research showed that wafer with differential storage time had a signifficantly effect (P<0,01) on the water level, texture, and scent on wafer of agricultural waste. The average of water content on wafer of agricultural waste based on carrot after saved by six weeks in the amount of 42,23 %, so there was no best saving time of wafer agricultural waste based on carrot because the water content of the wafer exceeds the standard of water content of the feed material to be saved that is 14%.
