Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
ABSTRAK Indonesia Tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) merupakan limbah pabrik kelapa sawit yang mengandung lignoselulosa tinggi yang terdiri atas selulosa 50,13%, hemiselulosa 24,32%, dan lignin 24,15%. TKKS dapat dikonversi menjadi bioetanol setelah perlakuan awal basa, hidrolisis dengan enzimatis, dan fermentasi dengan mikroba. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk menemukan kondisi terbaik perlakuan awal basa pada suhu 1000C, dan pengaruh suhu dan goyangan pada saat hidrolisis enzimatis TKKS terhadap gula reduksi yang dihasilkan. Setelah pengeringan dan pengecilan ukuran, TKKS direndam dalam larutan 1,0 dan 2,0M NaOH pada suhu 1000C selama 30, 45, dan 60 menit. Setelah disaring, padatan dianalisis kadar holoselulosa (selulosa dan hemiselulosa), dan kadar ligninnya. Holoselulosa hasil perlakuan awal dihidrolisis dengan menggunakan enzim selulase 15 FPU dan kemudian diinkubasi pada pH 4,8, suhu 40oC - 50oC dengan goyangan pada taraf 0, 100, 125, 150 rpm selama 24 jam. Kondisi perlakuan awal terbaik adalah perendaman larutan NaOH 1,0 M selama 30 menit. Kondisi ini menghasilkan tingkat degradasi lignin sebesar 93,46%. Perlakuan suhu dan goyangan pada saat hidrolisis mempengaruhi kadar gula reduksi TKKS yang dihasilkan. Hidrolisis dengan 15 FPU enzim selulase (SQzyme CS P) pada suhu 400C dengan kecepatan goyangan 150 rpm menghasilkan kadar gula reduksi yang dapat langsung difermentasi oleh Saccharomyces cerevisiae dengan metode simultaneous saccharification and fermentation (SSF). Kata kunci : tandan kosong kelapa sawit, lignoselulosa, perlakuan awal, natrium hidroksida, gula reduksi ABSTRACK Inggris Empty palm fruit bunch (EPFB) is a solid waste of palm oil industry and contains high lignocellulose consisting of 50,13% cellulose, 24,32% hemicelluloses, and 24,15% lignin. EPFB can be converted into bioethanol after pretreatment with bases, hydrolysis with enzymes, and fermentation with microbes. The objective of this research was to find out the best condition of alkali pretreatment at a temperature of 1000C and the best condition of EPFB enzymatic hydrolysis for generating reduced sugar. After drying and grounding, EPFB was submersed into 1,0 and 2,0 M NaOH solution at 1000C for 30, 45 and 60 minutes. The solution was then filtered and the residue was analyzed to determine its holocellulose (cellulose and hemicellulose), and lignin contents as well as its degree lignin degradation. Holocellulose resulting from the alkali treatments was then hydrolyzed with 15 FPU cellulase enzyme at pH 4,8, temperatures of 400C, 450C, and 500C, and shaking at 0, 100, 125, and 150 rpm for 24 hours. The best condition of alkali pretreatment was summertion into 1,0 M NaOH solution at 1000C for 30 minutes which yielding 93,46% lignin degradation. Enzymatic hydrolysis of EPFB at a temperature of 400C and shaking at a speed of 150 rpm still worked properly so that this condition can be applied for producing bioethanol using SSF method with saccharomyces cerevisiae.
