Abstrak

ABSTRAK IMOBILISASI BIOMAS A COCODUST DENGAN SILIKA GEL SEBAGAI ADSOR BEN ION Cd(II) DAN Pb(II) DALAM LARUTAN Oleh R. TRI ENDAH W. Telah dilakukan kajian imobilisasi cocodust (debu sabut kelapa) dengan silika gel sebagai adsorben ion Cd(II) dan Pb(II) dalam larutan dengan menggunakan metode batch . Karakterisasi material adsorben yang diperoleh dilakukan dengan menggunakan s pektrofotometer Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) - Energy Dispersive X - ray Spektrometer (EDS) untuk melihat morfologi ad sorben dan komposisi unsur yang terdapat dalam material hasil imobilisasi. Analisis gugus fungsi material adsorben dilakukan menggunakan spektrofotometer inframerah (IR) dan penentuan kadar konsentrasi ion Cd(II) dan Pb(II) dalam larutan dilakukan menggun akan spektrofotometer serapan atom (SSA). Hasil k arakterisasi adsorben dengan s pektofotometer IR menunjuk kan adanya gugus - OH, C=O, Si - O - Si, dan C - H dan karakterisasi menggunakan SEM - EDS membuktikan keberadaan unsur - unsur Si, O, dan C. P roses adsorpsi io n Cd(II) dan Pb(II) optimum pada pH 6 dengan waktu kontak 60 menit. Proses adsorpsi ion Cd(II) dan Pb(II) pada biomasa cocodust mengikuti model kinetika pseudo orde dua dan isoterm adsorpsi Freundlich dengan jumlah logam teradsorpsi untuk ion Cd(II) dan Pb (II) masing - masing sebesar 17,91 dan 23,64 mg g - 1 . Kata Kunci : Adsorpsi, Cocodust , Imobilisasi, dan logam berat. ABSTRACT IMMOBILIZATION OF COCODUST BIOMASS WITH SILICA GEL AS ADSORBENT Cd(II) AND Pb(II) IONS IN SOLUTION by R. TRI ENDAH W . It has been studied cocodust immobilization with silika gel as adsorbent of heavy metal Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions in solution using batch metode. Adsorbent material characterizations obtained were performed with using Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) - Energy Dispersive X - ray Spectrophotometer (EDS ) to observe surface morphology o f adsorbent and element composition existed in material resulted from immobilization. Analisys of adsorbent material functional group was carried out with using IR and determination of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions concentration was applied with using atomic ads orption spectrofotometer (AAS). Adsorbent characterization result by infrared spectrophotometer (IR) shows that functional group of – OH, C=O, Si - O - Si, and C - H are exist on adsorbent. In addition, adsorbent characterizations by SEM - EDS proves the existenc y of Si, O, and C element on adsorbent. Adsorption process of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions is optimum at pH 6 with contact time of 60 minutes. Adsorption process of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions on cocodust biomass tends to follow second orde pseudo kinetic and Freun dlich adsorption isoterm model with concentration of Cd(II) and Pb(II) ions adsorbed each 17.91 and 23.64 mg g - 1 .
