Abstrak
In this research, it has been carried out adsorption process of Pb(II) and Cd(II) ions toward adsorbent of exopolysaccharide (EPS) modified with matrix silica producing exopolysaccaride silica-hybrid (ESH). The material obtained from synthesis result was characterized by spectrophotometer infrared (IR) to identify functional groups and scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive xray (SEM-EDX) to investigate surface morphology. Determination of metal ion concentration was performed by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Adsorption of Pb(II) and Cd(II) ions with HES is optimum at pH 7 and consentration at 25 ppm with the capasities adsorption of 99.23 and 82.04 %, contact time of 15 min and it tends to follow second orde pseudo kinetic model and Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. Keywords: Exopolysaccharide, adsorption, silica-hybrid exopolysaccharide, Pb(II) and Cd(II) ions Pada penelitian ini, telah dilakukan adsorpsi ion Pb(II) dan Cd(II) terhadap adsorben eksopolisakarida (EPS) yang dimodifikasi dengan matriks silika menghasilkan hibrida eksopolisakarida-silika (HES). Material hasil sintesis dikarakterisasi melalui identifikasi gugus fungsional dengan spektrofotometer inframerah (IR), dan analisis morfologi permukaan dengan scanning electron microscope-energy dispersive x-ray (SEM-EDX). Analisis kadar ion logam ditentukan dengan menggunakan inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES). Adsorpsi ion Pb(II) and Cd(II) oleh HES optimum pada pH 7 dan konsentrasi 25 ppm dengan kapasitas adsorpsi masing-masing rata-rata sebesar 99,23 dan 82,04 %, waktu interaksi 15 menit serta cenderung mengikuti model kinetika pseudo orde dua dan model isoterm adsorpsi Langmuir.
