ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui potensi nilai nutrisi daun nenas dan kapasitas tampung limbah daun nenas di PT. Great Pineapple Terbanggi Besar sebagai pakan ruminansia. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Juni 2013 hingga Agustus 2013 di PT. Great Pineapple Terbanggi Besar, Lampung Tengah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei purposive sampling. Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer mencakup segala informasi tentang lahan perkebunan yang menjadi obyek penelitian, misalnya luas tanam, luas panen, produksi limbah yang dihasilkan, dan pengelolaan limbah. Data sekunder merupakan data yang diperoleh dari literatur-literatur yang ada, meliputi informasi tentang potensi perkebunan yang ada di Terbanggi Besar Lampung Tengah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa produksi bahan kering daun nenas di PT. Great Giant Pineapple adalah 105.926.400 kg/th pada lahan seluas 32.000 ha memiliki kapasitas tampung untuk ternak sapi 53.152 UT/th (pemberian daun nenas sebesar 40%) dan dengan 42.553 UT/th (pemberian daun nenas sebesar 50%). Kata kunci: daun nenas, kapasitas tampung, potensi nutrisi ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to know the potential nutrition and the capasities of pineapple’s leaves in PT. Great Giant Pineapple Terbanggi as the ruminant’s feed. This research was held in June 2013 until August 2013 in PT. Great Giant Pineapple Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. This research uses the ‘purposive sampling’ survey method. The data that would be used in this research consists of the primary data and secondary data. The Primary data encompasses all information about the plantations that become the object of the research, for example, the planting area, the harvested area, the production wastes that will be produced and the wastes management. The secondary data is a data that can be obtainable from the existing literature, including the information about the existing potential estates in Terbanggi Besar, Central Lampung. The results of this research shows that the total wastes of the pineapple’s leaves in PT. Great Giant Pinneapple is ± 105.926.400 kg/th in 32.000 ha area having carrying capacity for ruminant is 53.152 UT per year (40% assuming pineapple’s leaves) and with 42.553 UT per year (50% assuming pineapple’s leaves).
