Abstract
ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF FAMILY COMMUNICATION TOWARD THE DECISION MAKING PROCESS OF CHILDREN EDUCATION (The Study Of Nuclear Families In Lots B Of Jalan Abdul Kadir RT 14, Rajabasa Village, Bandar Lampung) By: RISQI FEBRI MUTIA The purpose of this research is to find out how big the effect of family communication toward the decision making process of children education. The formulation of the problem in this research is “How big is the effect of family communication toward the decision making process of children education?” This research is done by doing quantitative descriptive method and using questioner, reference study, and documentation. The respondent of this research is taken by using simple random sampling method in purpose from the whole number of families live in the same environment that is 80 families which own school-age children start from Junior High School level until Senior High School level, found 44 families to be the sample of this research. After the data is collected, the data analysis is done by doing presentation which is presented by single tabulation and crossed-table by using Simple Linear Regression formula. The result of this research shows that the value of r2 (r square) means that the family communication may give an effect to the decision making process of children education about 43.3%. It can be explained that by the existence of family communication which is supported by the openness, empathy, support, and positive equality behavior, the decision making process may run based on each family’s way in making a decision. The ways of making decision are by doing discussions, dominant father and mother, equality of father and mother, equality of father and children, equality of mother and children or only dominant children.
