Abstrak Bahasa Indonesia ABSTRAK PENGARUH FOTOPERIODE SELAMA KULTUR Nitzschia sp. TERHADAP KANDUNGAN LEMAK TOTAL DAN RASIO N P Oleh Swarna Sri Novianti Nitzschia sp. merupakan mikroalga yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai pakan bagi larva ikan dan zooplankton. karena memiliki kandungan lemak yang tinggi. Unsur P dalam bentuk ortofosfat dan N dalam bentuk nitrat berfungsi membentuk jaringan protoplasma. Unsur tersebut turut menjadi faktor pembatas bagi aktivitas biologisnya. Laju pertumbuhan spesifik pada Nitzschia sp. dipengaruhi oleh nutrien dan fotoperiode. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian fotoperiode yang berbeda selama kultur Nitzschia sp. terhadap kandungan lemak total dan rasio N P pada media kultur. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret 2015 bertempat di Laboratorium Budidaya Perikanan, Jurusan Budidaya Perairan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Penelitian terdiri dari 3 perlakuan yaitu A (fotoperiode 6T:18G) B (fotoperiode 12T:12G) dan C (fotoperiode 18T:6G). Parameter utama yang diamati adalah kepadatan sel, kandungan lemak total serta rasio N P pada media kultur. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t-test (α= 0,05). Adanya peningkatan pemberian cahaya cenderung menurunkan kepadatan sel Nitzschia sp., tetapi memiliki pengaruh yang berbeda terhadap kandungan lemak total dan rasio N P pada media kultur. Fotoperiode tidak berpengaruh terhadap kepadatan sel Nitzschia sp., kandungan lemak total dan rasio N P media kultur. Kata kunci: Fotoperiode, kepadatan sel, lemak total, rasio N P, Nitzschia sp. Abstract Bahasa Inggris ABSTRACT THE EFFECT OF PHOTOPERIOD OF Nitzschia sp. CULTURE ON CRUDE LIPID CONTENT AND N P RATIO By Swarna Sri Novianti Nitzschia sp. commonly use as feed for fish larvae and zooplankton, because of its high lipid content. The combination compound of orthophosphate (P) and nitrate (N) play an important role to form protoplasm’s cell. The elements can act as a limiting factor for biological activity. Specific growth rate on Nitzschia sp. influenced by nutrient and photoperiod. The study aimed determined the effect of different photoperiod during culture Nitzschia sp. on the crude lipid content and N P ratio in culture medium. The research was conducted on March 2015 at the Laboratory of Aquaculture, Department of Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The study consisted of three treatments, such as A (photoperiod 6T: 18G), B (photoperiod 12T: 12G) and C (photoperiod 18T: 6G). The main variables measured were cell density, crude lipid content and N P ratio in culture medium. The data analized by t-test (α=0,05). The increasing of light period tent to decreasing of cell density of Nitzschia sp., but it has the different trend with crude lipid content and N P ratio in culture medium. Photoperiod had no effect on Nitzschia sp. cell density, crude lipid content and N P ratio in culture medium. Keywords: photoperiod, cell density, crude lipid content, N P ratio, Nitzschia sp.
