Abstrak

Abstrak Manfaat probiotik komersil telah terbukti bagi kegiatan budidaya perikanan. Penelitian untuk mengetahui pengaruh probiotik komersil (Mina Pro®) yang mengandung Bacillus sp. terhadap pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pakan ikan patin (Pangasius hypophthalmus). Akuarium (50 x 40 x 40 cm) sebanyak 12 buah kepadatan 30 ekor/akuarium, benih ikan patin (panjang total 5-7 cm) dengan perlakuan probiotik 0, 5, 10, 20 ml/kg ditambahkan pada pakan selama 40 hari pemeliharaan. Pakan komersil dengan kandungan protein 35,66% diberikan secara ad satiation sebanyak 5% dari bobot tubuh ikan dengan frekuensi tiga kali sehari. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan probiotik pada pakan yang dianalisis dengan analisis sidik ragam selang kepercayaan 95% tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan ikan patin, tetapi berpengaruh nyata untuk efisiensi pakan. Dosis probiotik yang optimal dalam penelitian ini 10 ml/kg pakan. Kata kunci: probiotik, pertumbuhan, efisiensi pakan, ikan patin Abstract The benefit of commercial probiotics has been proved useful to aquaculture worldwide.The experiments tested the effects of a commercial probiotic (Mina Pro®) containing Bacillus sp. on growth and feed efficiency in Asian catfish (Pangasius hypopthalmus). Twelve aquarias (50 x 40 x 40 cm) were stocked each with 30 juvenile of Asian catfish (5-7 cm in total length) containing 0; 5; 10; 20 ml/kg probiotic inclusion to diet in three replicates for 40 days cultured. Feed offered to ad satiation of 35.66 % protein content of commercial feed for three times feeding frequency per day. There was no effect of probiotic inclusion in the diets on growth but survival performances maximal in all treatments (α= 0.05). Feed efficiency and nutrient retention was affected by inclusion of probiotic in the diet (α= 0.05). The results suggested that inclusion of the probiotic 10 ml/kg to the diet is adequate to support feed efficiency of Asian catfish larviculture.
