Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Abstrak Pemilihan ransum dengan komposisi sesuai dengan kebutuhan ternak mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan ternak tersebut. Oleh sebab itu, pemilihan ransum harus diperhatikan dalam pemeliharaan ayam jantan tipe medium agar mendapatkan konsumsi ransum, konsumsi energi, konsumsi protein, pertambahan berat tubuh, konversi ransum, dan income over feed cost yang baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk : (1) mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ransum komersial terhadap performan ayam jantan tipe medium; (2) mengetahui pemberian ransum komersial yang terbaik terhadap performan ayam jantan tipe medium. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Desember 2010 sampai dengan Februari 2011, di kandang ayam Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), terdiri atas tiga perlakuan pemberian ransum yaitu R1, R2, dan R3. Setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 6 kali dan ayam yang digunakan ayam jantan tipe medium umur 0 minggu sampai dengan umur 8 minggu sebanyak 180 ekor yang dipelihara pada 18 petak kandang sistem litter. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis ragam pada taraf nyata 5% dan atau 1% dan dilanjutkan dengan uji lanjut menggunakan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan : (1) konsumsi energi R1 lebih tinggi (P<0,01) daripada R2 dan R3, sedangkan R1, R2, dan R3 berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) pada konsumsi ransum, konsumsi protein, pertambahan berat tubuh, konversi ransum, dan income over feed cost, serta (2) adanya pengaruh terbaik pemberian ransum komersial R3 terhadap performans ayam jantan tipe medium umur 0--8 minggu. Abstract The selection of feeding with suitable composition to the animals need can increase the animals growth. Therefore, the selection of feeding must be noticed in maintenance of roosters medium type in order to get the good feeding consumptoin, energy consumption, protein consumption, body weight increasing, feeding conversion, and income over feed cost. The experiment intends : (1) to know the influence of giving some commercial feeding to the performance of roosters medium type; (2) to know the giving of the best commercial feeding to the performance of roosters medium type. This experiment was held on December 2010 up to Februari 2011, in the poultry house of Department of Animal husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. This experiment used Completely Randomized Design (CRD), that consists of three treatments of feeding, they are R1, R2, and R3. Every treatment was repeated 6 times and it used 180 roosters medium type aged 0--8 weeks old which were maintained in 18 squares of litter system house. The gotten data was variance analyzed on real level 5 % and 1 5 and contined with advanced test using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result of this experiment shows : (1) energy consumption R1 is very real (P<0,01) than R2 and R3 contrary R1, R2, and R3 it is unreal (P>0,05) influence to the feeding consumption, protein consumption, increasing of body weight, feeding conversion, and income over feed cost (2) there is an influence of giving the best commercial feeding R3 to the performance of roosters medium type 0--8 weeks old.
