Abstrak Nannochloropsis sp. adalah mikroalga yang biasa digunakan sebagai pakan alami dalam kegiatan kultur larva ikan dan udang karena memiliki kandungan asam amino yang tinggi. Ketersediaan asam amino dipengaruhi oleh cahaya dalam proses fotosintesis. Tingginya asam amino non esensial pada mikroalga akan meningkatkan nutrisi pakan alami bagi larva ikan dan udang. Tujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis kandungan asam amino non esensial Nannochloropsis sp. dengan periode penyinaran berbeda yaitu 18T dan 6T. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari 2012, bertempat di BBPBL Hanura Lampung. Parameter yang diamati adalah kandungan asam amino non esensial, laju pertumbuhan, dan kualitas air. Asam amino non esensial yang terdapat pada Nannochloropsis sp. pada penelitian antara lain asam aspartat, serin, asam glutamat, glisin, alanin, prolin, dan tirosin. Pengaturan periode penyinaran Nannochloropsis sp. pada kondisi 18T mempunyai kandungan asam amino non esensial 134% lebih tinggi dibandingkan 6T. Perubahan kelimpahan sel Nannochloropsis sp. pada kondisi 18T lebih fluktuatif dibandingkan kondisi 6T. Kata kunci: Nannochloropsis sp., Fotoperiode, dan Asam amino non esensial Abstract Nannochloropsis sp. is marine microalgae commonly used as natural food for fish larvae and shrimp culture because it has a high composition of amino acids. Amino acid availability in microalgae affected by light in the photosynthetic processes. The composition of non-essential amino acids in the microalgae would effect the quality of natural food for fish and shrimp larvae. The aim of the research was to analyze composition of the non-essential amino acid on Nannochloropsis sp. under different photoperiod namely 18T and 6T. The study conducted on January 2012, at BBPBL Hanura Lampung. The non-essential amino acid composition, growth rate, and water quality were observed during the research. The non-essential amino acid which are existed on Nannochloropsis sp. are L-aspartic acid, L-serine, L-glutamic acid, Glycine, L-alanine, L-proline, L-tyrosine. The composition of non-essential amino acid on 18T treatment was 134% higher than 6T treatment. Changes in cell abundance of Nannochloropsis sp. on 18T treatment was more volatile than the 18T treatment. Key words: Nannochloropsis sp., Photoperiod, and Non-essential amino acids
