Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Abstrak Tantangan terbesar bagi negara dengan jumlah penduduk lebih dari 200 juta jiwa adalah masalah pangan (Sumodiningrat, 2001). Konversi lahan pertanian menjadi areal nonpertanian turut menyebabkan penurunan produktivitas beras. Masalah lain adalah kelangkaan air untuk irigasi. Penanaman padi gogo diharapkan mampu mengurangi penggunaan air karena padi gogo dapat ditanam di lahan kering. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis neraca air pada zona perakaran padi gogo, menganalisis hubungan antara curah hujan dan limpasan permukaan, menganalisis hubungan antara curah hujan dan perkolasi, menganalisis evapotranspirasi, dan evaluasi nilai kc pada tanaman padi gogo. Penelitian dilakukan di Laboratorium Lapang Terpadu Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Lampung dimulai bulan Agustus - Desember 2011. Percobaan menggunakan 2 plot lahan penelitian dengan perlakuan plot A menggunakan terpal dan plot B tidak menggunakan terpal yang masing-masing dilengkapi kolam penampungan air hujan pada bagian hilirnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa curah hujan menghasilkan perkolasi sebesar 25,3%, limpasan sebesar 20,8% dan sisanya digunakan pada proses evapotranspirasi dan menjadi air tersimpan. Jumlah seluruh ETc padi gogo dalam satu musim tanam ialah sekitar 85,1% dari input yang digunakan. Kc tanaman yang dihasilkan ialah kc in=1,09 ; kc mid=1,77 ; dan kc end=1,23. Air hujan tidak cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan air tanaman sehingga dibutuhkan irigasi. Satu m 3 air irigasi dapat menghasilkan 1,79 kg padi gogo pada plot yang menggunakan terpal dan 1,38 kg padi pada plot yang tidak menggunakan terpal. Farm land conversion became nonfarm areal has been realized to couse the declining productivity of rice. Other problem may be the water scarcity for irrigation. Cultivating paddy gogo (the upper land paddy rice) can possibly reduce water consumption and then reduce the water dependency for rice production. The aims of this research were to analyze water balance in paddy gogo cultivation. The research included analyses of relation between rainfall and surface runoff and percolation, evapotranspiration, and determination of crop constant kc for paddy gogo. Field experiment was conducted at the Integrated Field Laboratory College of Agriculture, University of Lampung from August to December 2011. Field observations were carried out on two groups of experimental plots, with plastics liner (plot A) and without plastics liner (plot B). All the plots were equiped with runoff water storage ponds at the downstream. The results showed that rainfall produce percolation as many as 25,6%; surface runoff 20,8%; and the rest was used for the evapotranspiration process and soil water savings. Total of the whole ETc paddy gogo at one growing season is about 85,1% by the input. The crop koeficients were kc init= 1,09 ; kc mid= 1,77; and kc end=1,23. Rainfall was found to be not enough to fulfill the crop water requirements, thus irigation was needed. One meter cubic of irrigation water produced 1,79 kg paddy gogo in the plot A and 1,38 kg in the plot B. Key words : water balance, evapotranspiration, surface runoff, percolation, kc, paddy gogo
