Abstrak

Abstrak Ikan nila merupakan komoditas yang diminati di beberapa negara. Hal tersebut diketahui dari permintaan pasar dunia yang cukup tinggi. Sistem budidaya yang dapat dilakukan dalam membudidayakan ikan nila adalah dengan sistem budidaya tanpa ganti air. Salah satu teknik yang tepat untuk menjaga kualitas air dalam pemeliharaan ikan nila dalam sistem tanpa ganti air adalah dengan penggunaan bioremediasi. Azolla sp. merupakan tanaman air yang berperan sebagai agen bioremediasi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepadatan Azolla sp. terhadap kualitas air, pertumbuhan, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup benih ikan nila serta mengetahui kepadatan Azolla sp. terbaik bagi pertumbuhan dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup benih ikan nila dalam sistem tanpa ganti air. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan (0,50,100,150, dan 200 gr/m2 Azolla sp.). Penelitian dilakukan menggunakan benih ikan nila 5-7 cm dan akuarium berukuran 80x50x60 cm3. Parameter dalam penelitian meliputi suhu, pH, DO, amoniak, laju pertumbuhan harian benih ikan nila dan Azolla sp., serta tingkat kelangsungan hidup relatif (SR relatif). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepadatan Azolla sp. yang berbeda memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap penurunan dan kestabilan pH hingga batas optimal. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa Azolla sp. meningkatkan kelangsungan hidup dan laju pertumbuhan harian benih ikan nila. Kepadatan Azolla sp. terbaik bagi pemeliharaan benih ikan nila dalam sistem tanpa ganti air adalah 150 gram/m2. Kata kunci : Azolla sp., kualitas air, benih ikan nila, pertumbuhan, SR relatif Abstract Tilapia is an interesting commodity in many countries. It is well known from its high demand all over the world. Aquaculture system that can be conducted to rear tilapia is zero water exchange system. One method used to mantain water quality in the tilapia culture by using zero water exchange system is bioremediation. Azolla sp. is an aquatic plant that might be used an agent of bioremediation. The aims of this research were to determine density effect Azolla sp. on water quality, growth, and survival rate of tilapia seed in zero water exchange system, and to determine the best density of Azolla sp. for growth an survival rate of tilapia seed in zero water exchange system. The design of the research was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments (0, 50, 100, 150, and 200 g/m2 Azolla sp.) and triplicate. Tilapia seed length 5-7 cm and aquarium 80x50x60 cm3 size were used in this research. The observations towards water quality and growth parameter were conducted including temperature, pH, DO, ammonia, daily growth rate of tilapia seed and Azolla sp., and relative survival rate (relative SR). The result showed that density of Azolla sp. gave significant effect on decreasing and stabilizing to optimum pH. The result also showed that Azolla sp. increased survival rate and growth rate of tilapia seed. The best density of Azolla sp. for tilapia seed culture in zero water exchange system was 150 gram/m2.
