Abstract
Abstrak Ekstrak testis sapi (ETS) merupakan bahan alami yang mengandung hormon testosteron, pemberian ekstrak testis sapi selain dapat meningkatkan konsentrasi testosteron gonad yang diaromatasi menjadi estradiol, juga untuk memberikan umpan balik positif terhadap pituitari untuk mensekresikan hormon gonadotropin sehingga proses perkembangan gonad ikan lele menjadi lebih cepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek penambahan ETS di pakan terhadap perkembangan gonad induk ikan lele. Perkembangan gonad diamati melalui analisis histologi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, penambahan ETS pakan mampu mempercepat perkembangan gonad yang ditunjukkan oleh menurunnya proporsi oosit previtellogenesis di dosis 1, 3, dan 4 mg/kg, dan peningkatan proporsi oosit matang gonad di dosis 1, 2, 3, dan 4 mg/kg pakan. Proporsi oosit matang tertinggi diperoleh pada dosis 4 mg/kg pakan. Kata kunci : Ikan lele (Clarias sp.), ekstrak testis sapi, previtellogenesis, matang gonad. Abstract Bovine testicular extract (BTE), is a natural ingredient that contains the testosterone, the addition of bovine testicular extract, besides could increasing concentrations of the testosterone, it’s also give a positive feedback to the pituitary to secrete gonadotropins hormones that accelerate the gonad development catfish. This study aimed to determine the dietary effects of BTE on the gonad development catfish broadstock. Gonadal development was observed by histological analysis. The results showed that the dietary of BTE is able to accelerate the gonad development, indicated by the decreasing the proportion of previtellogenesis oocytes in dose 1 , 3, and 4 mg / kg, and increasing the proportion of mature oocytes in the gonad dosis1, 2, 3, and 4 mg / kg of feed. The highest proportion of mature oocytes shown at dose 4 mg / kg of feed. Keyword : Catfish (Clarias sp.), cows testicular extract (CTE), previtellogenesis, mature gonads.
