Abstrak

Abstrak Salah satu permasalahan dalam budidaya ikan mas yaitu tingginya konsentrasi amoniak karena peningkatan padat tebar dan banyaknya sisa pakan di perairan. Metode yang dinilai aman dan ekonomis untuk memperbaiki kualitas air yaitu dengan pemberian molase pada aplikasi probiotik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya pengaruh pemberian molase pada aplikasi probiotik terhadap kualitas air, pertumbuhan dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup benih ikan mas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober sampai November 2011, di Laboratorium Program Studi Budidaya Perairan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Penelitian menggunakan 5 perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan. Perlakuan yang diuji yaitu (A) 0 g/L molase, (B) 2,4 g/L molase, (C) 4,8 g/L molase, (D) 7,2 g/L molase, (E) 9,6 g/L molase. Data hasil pengamatan suhu, pH, DO dan laju pertumbuhan harian dianalisis menggunakan uji nonparametrik Kruskal-Wallis, sedangkan hasil pengamatan amoniak, dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup benih ikan mas dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) pemberian molase pada aplikasi probiotik memberikan pengaruh terhadap suhu sore, pH dan DO pagi dan sore, konsentrasi amoniak dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup (2) dosis pemberian molase sebesar 2,4 g/L merupakan perlakuan terbaik terlihat pada kondisi suhu, pH dan DO pada pagi dan sore lebih stabil, konsentrasi amoniak mengalami penurunan serta laju pertumbuhan harian dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup lebih tinggi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Kata kunci: ikan mas, probiotik, molase, amoniak Abstract High concentration of ammonia is one of major problem in common carp culture. It was caused by high stocking density and excessive feed. Molasses is biologicaly and economicaly considered as one of the safest way to increase the water quality. The aim of the research were to understand to effect of different molasses concentration which was applied in probiotic on the water quality, growth and survival rate of cammon carp. The research was conducted from October to November 2011, in the Laboratory of Aquaculture Department, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The research used five treatments with three replications. The treatments were tested, namely (A) 0 g /L molasses, (B) 2,4 g /L molasses, (C) 4,8 g /L molasses, (D) 7,2 g /L molasses, (E) 9,6 g /L molasses. Data of temperature, pH, DO and daily growth rate were analyzed by using Kruskal-Wallis nonparametric test, while the ammonia and survival rate were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that (1) molasses treatment on the application of probiotics provides influence on the afternoon temperature, pH and DO in the morning and afternoon, concentration of ammonia and survival rate (2) based on the stability of temperature, pH and DO in the morning and the afternoon, concentration of ammonia, growth and survival rate of carp higher than the other. The concentration of 2,4 g /L molasses was considered as the best treatment. Keywords: common carp, probiotik, molasses, ammonia
