ABSTRACT REPRESENTATION OF CHILDREN’S LEARNING MOTIVATION IN LASKAR PELANGI FILM By Arini Setya Prihartini Film is a mass media that has more power to make representation to the reality through the appearance in form of audiovisual. Necessary things that educate to be represented in a film for tehe film does not ignore the educate function as part of mass media. In tihs study, the representation used is the representation of childern’s learning motivation in the research object Laskar Pelangi film. Based on this, the formulation of the problem in tihs research is how the representation of childern’s learning motivation in Laskar Pelangi film? And motivation to learn such as what is depicted in Laskar Pelangi film? (Based on the type of motivation, character motivation, how to provide motivation, factors that affect). This study aims to determine, describe and explain the representation of childern’s learning motivation in Laskar Pelangi film and to discover to discover, describe and explain the type, manner, nature, and motivational factors contained in the film Laskar Pelangi. Therefore, the type of research used in this research is descriptive research method approach to qualitative research methods. While data collection techniques acquired through observation and analysis of the contents of the film, then the data is processed, interpreted and construed in accordance with a predetermined focus of study. Based on the results of research and discussion shows that in the movie Laskar Pelangi there are 32 scenes that represent children's learning motivation. illustrated children's learning motivation consists of intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation that kind of secondary, given by way of motivating by force, Motivating by enticement, and Motivating by identification and influenced by observations, thoughts and feelings. Keywords: representation, children's learning motivation, Laskar Pelangi ABSTRAK REPRESENTASI MOTIVASI BELAJAR ANAK PADA FILM LASKAR PELANGI Oleh ARINI SETYA PRIHARTINI Film adalah media massa yang memiliki kekuatan lebih untuk melakukan representasi terhadap kenyataan melalui tampilannya dalam bentuk audiovisual. Diperlukan hal yang mendidik untuk direpresentasikan dalam sebuah film agar film tidak mengabaikan fungsi edukatifnya sebagai bagian dari media massa. Dalam penelitian ini representasi yang digunakan adalah representasi motivasi belajar anak pada objek penelitian film Laskar Pelangi. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini yaitu bagaimana representasi motivasi belajar anak pada film Laskar Pelangi ? dan motivasi belajar seperti apa yang tergambar dalam film Laskar Pelangi ? (berdasarkan jenis motivasi, sifat motivasi, cara memberi motivasi, faktor yang berpengaruh). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, menggambarkan dan menjelaskan mengenai representasi motivasi belajar anak pada film Laskar Pelangi serta untuk mengetahui, menggambarkan dan menjelaskan jenis, cara, sifat, dan faktor motivasi yang terdapat pada film Laskar Pelangi. Oleh karena itu, tipe penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian deskriptif melalui pendekatan metode penelitian kualitatif. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh melaui pengamatan dan analisis terhadap isi film, kemudian data tersebut diolah, diinterpretasikan serta ditafsirkan sesuai dengan fokus kajian yang telah ditetapkan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa di dalam film Laskar Pelangi terdapat 30 adegan yang merepresentasikan motivasi belajar anak. motivasi belajar anak yang tergambar terdiri atas motivasi bersifat intrinsik dan ekstrinsik yang jenisnya motivasi sekunder, diberikan dengan cara motivating by force, motivating by enticement dan motivating by identification serta dipengaruhi oleh faktor pengamatan, pemikiran dan perasaan.
