Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Writing, as one of the language skill, is one of the important subjects that should be taught to students. Although it is important, writing is difficult to manage in the class because the teacher should spend a lot of time to correct students’ work. Peer correction, as one of the techniques of correction, is believed to contribute for the increasing of students’ writing skill. Therefore the objective of this research is to find out whether there is significant increase of students’ ability in writing recount text after they are taught using Peer Correction. This quantative research was conducted at SMA Negeri 5 Bandar Lampung in academic year 2012/2013. The research took place in class X 6 which consisted of 30 students. The instruments used to gather the data were writing test (pre test and post test). The researcher conducted pre test before treatments and post test after the treatments. The students’ mean scores in the pre-test was 57.33 and the students’ mean score in the post-test was 80.5, in which the students’ mean scores gain increased about 23.17. The result of the research shows that t-value (16.223) was higher than t-table (2.045). It means that there is significant increase of students’ ability in writing of recount text after being taught through peer correction. Based on the finding, it can be concluded that peer correction can give positive increase in students’ ability in writing recount text.
