Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)
Status orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) menurut IUCN Red List edisi tahun 2008 (IUCN, 2015) adalah kategori terancam punah sehingga upaya konservasi perlu dilakukan. Penelitian perilaku harian menjadi penting dilakukan sebagai data dasar dan kontrol pengelola Taman Agro Satwa dan Wisata Bumi Kedaton. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perilaku harian orangutan dan lama waktu pada masing-masing jenis perilaku orangutan yang ditempatkan di habitat buatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2015 di TASWBK. Pengamatan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode focal animal sampling, dimulai pada pagi hari pukul 07.00 - 17.00 WIB selama 18 hari. Hasil penelitian yaitu perilaku harian orangutan terdiri dari perilaku bergerak, istirahat, makan, sosial, bermain sendiri, dan perilaku lainnya (grooming, defekasi, dan urinasi). Total lama waktu perilaku harian orangutan yaitu 180 jam (10.800 menit). Perilaku paling tinggi ditunjukkan pada perilaku istirahat 60,41% (6.524 menit dari total waktu perilaku harian orangutan); perilaku makan 17,35% (1.874 menit); perilaku bergerak 10,56% (1.140,5 menit); perilaku sosial 5,27% (569 menit); perilaku bermain sendiri 4,65% (502 menit); dan perilaku lainnya 1,76% (190,5 menit). Kata kunci: orangutan, perilaku harian, focal animal sampling ABSTRACT DAILY BEHAVIOR STUDY OF ORANGUTAN (Pongo pygmaeus) IN TAMAN AGRO SATWA DAN WISATA BUMI KEDATON BANDAR LAMPUNG The status of orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus) according to IUCN Red List version 2008 (IUCN, 2015) was endangered, therefore conservation efforts need to be done. Daily behavior study became important as a database and effort controlling of Taman Agro Satwa dan Wisata Bumi Kedaton management. The purpose of this research was to determine the daily behavior of orangutan and the long time on each type of orangutan behaviors that placed in an artificial habitat. This research was conducted on March 2015 in TASWBK. The observation was using focal animal sampling method, which started in the morning from 07.00 am - 17.00 pm for 18 days. The result showed that daily behavior of orangutans consists of moving, resting, feeding, social, play itself, and other behaviors (grooming, defecation and urination). Total long time of orangutan daily behavior was 180 hours (10.800 minutes). Highest behavior shown were resting behavior 60.41% (6.524 minutes of from orangutan daily behavior total time); feeding behavior 17.35% (1.874 minutes); moving behavior 10,56% (1.140,5 minutes); social behavior 5,27% (569 minutes); behavior of play itself 4,65% (502 minutes); and other behaviors 1,76% (190,5 minutes).
