Abstrak

Abstrak Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh penggunaan ekstrak kulit kakao dan NALCO 72990 sebagai inhibitor terhadap kerak kalsium karbonat (CaCO3). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit kakao dan NALCO 72990 dapat digunakan sebagai inhibitor untuk menghambat pertumbuhan kerak CaCO3 pada konsentrasi larutan pertumbuhan 0,05 M. Nilai persentase penghambatan tertinggi seeded experiment yaitu pada konsentrasi 250 ppm masing-masing sebesar 11,81 dan 100%, sedangkan unseeded experiment pada konsentrasi 250 ppm untuk ekstrak kulit kakao sebesar 28,83 % dan 150 ppm inhibitor NALCO 72990 sebesar 100 %. Hasil analisis Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) menunjukkan bahwa morfologi permukaan CaCO3 tanpa inhibitor lebih besar dibandingkan dengan yang menggunakan inhibitor. Analisis menggunakan Particel Size Analyzer (PSA) menunjukkan bahwa distribusi ukuran kerak CaCO3 menjadi lebih kecil dengan adanya penambahan inhibitor ekstrak kulit kakao dan NALCO 72990. Abstract It has been researched on the effect of skin extracts of cocoa and NALCO 72990 as inhibitors of the crust of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). The results showed that the bark extract of cocoa and 72990 NALCO can be used as an inhibitor to inhibit the growth of CaCO3 crust at a concentration of 0.05 M. Solution growth Value percentage inhibition experiments, the highest seeded at a concentration of 250 ppm, respectively 11,81 and 100%, while the unseeded experiment at a concentration of 250 ppm for cocoa bark extract of 28,83% and 150 ppm of inhibitor NALCO 72990 at 100%. The results of analysis of Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) showed that the surface morphology of CaCO3 without inhibitor is greater than the use of inhibitors. Analysis using Particel Size Analyzer (PSA) showed that the crust CaCO3 size distribution becomes smaller with the addition of inhibitors of skin extracts of cocoa and NALCO 72990.
