Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi digestate dan ukuran granul terhadap bulk density, daya serap air, dan kekerasan hidroton. Rancangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah rancangan acak lengkap faktorial dengan tiga ulangan. Faktor pertama adalah komposisi digestate dengan 3 taraf yaitu 0%, 25%, dan 50% dari berat tanah liat. Faktor yang kedua adalah ukuran partikel hidroton dengan 3 taraf yaitu 2–4 mm, 4–8 mm, dan 8–12 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada interaksi antara komposisi digestate dan ukuran partikel. Namun, komposisi digestate berpengaruh nyata terhadap bulk density, daya serap air, dan kekerasan hidroton. Kombinasi perlakuan A3B3 memberikan hasil terbaik yaitu nilai nlai BD media 0,83 gr/cm3, daya serap air sebesar 25,95%, dan nilai kekerasan hidroton sebesar 11,63 N/cm2. Kata kunci : media tanam, hidroponik, hidroton, tanah liat, digestate THE MAKING OF HYDROTON WITH DIFFERENT SIZE AS GROWTH MEDIA OF HYDROPONIC FROM CLAY AND DIGESTATE This study aimed to determine the effect of digestate composition and sizes of the granules to bulk density, water holding capacity, and the physical of hydroton. The design of this study used completely randomized factorial design with three replications. The first factor is digestate composition with 3 levels are 0%, 25%, and 50% to weigh of clay soil. The second factor is size particular of hydroton with 3 levels are 2-4 mm, 4-8 mm, and 8-12 mm. The results showed that there was no significant interaction between digestate composition and size of granules. However, the composition of digestate effected to bulk density, water holding capacity, and the physical of hydroton. The treatment combination by A3B3 was achieved the best result is the value of bulk density media 0,83 gr/cm3, water holding capacity of 25,95%, and the physical of hydroton 11,63 N/cm2.
