Abstrak. Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai inhibisi korosi pada baja karbon rendah C-Mn steel oleh ekstrak kulit buah manggis (Garcinia mangostana) dalam media korosif Asam Sulfat (HCl) dan Natrium Klorida (NaCl) dengan konsentrasi 1 M. Pengujian dilakukan dengan metode penurunan berat. Laju korosi diuji pada baja C-Mn steel dengan inhibitor ekstrak kulit buah manggis selama 120 jam dengan konsentrasi 0%, 10%, 15%, dan 20%. Hasil laju korosi dan efisiensi inhibitor menunjukkan bahwa semakin bertambahnya konsentrasi inhibitor maka laju korosi menurun dan efisiensi inhibitor meningkat. Hasil karakterisasi X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) memperlihatkan bahwa fasa yang terbentuk adalah Fe murni. Karakterisasi Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) menunjukkan adanya gumpalan, retakan, dan lubang pada permukaan sampel. Hasil uji Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS), produk korosi yang paling banyak adalah FeO. Kata kunci: C-Mn Steel, ekstrak Garcinia mangostana, inhibisi korosi, SEMEDS, XRD. INHIBITION CORROSION RATE OF CARBON C-MN STEEL USING INHIBITOR EXTRACT OF MANGOSTEEN PEEL (GARCINIA MANGOSTANA) Abstrac. Corrosion inhibition of low carbon C-Mn steel by extract of mangosteen peel (Garcinia mangostana) in corrosive medium of Hydrochloride Acid (HCl) and Natrium Chloride (NaCl) of 1 M. Corrosion rate was tested on C-Mn steel with the extract of mangosteen peel for 120 hour with concentration of 0%, 10%, 15%, and 20%. The results rate corrosion and inhibitor efficiency suggests that the increasing concentration of inhibitor, the rate of corrosion inhibitor decreases and the efficiency increases. The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) result showed that the phase was Fe. Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) showed that the cluster, crack, and hole.
