Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

ABSTRACT Vocabulary plays crucial role in communication. It is a core component of language proficiency and provides much of the basis for how well students speak, listen, read, and write. The objective of this research aimed at exploring the correlation between students’ vocabulary learning strategies and vocabulary size. The data were analyzed by using the Correlation in SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science). The results indicated that social strategy was the most frequently used strategy compared to the other strategies with the mean score was 3.213. Otherwise, the least frequently used strategy was metacognitive strategy with the mean score was 2.968. Based on the data of vocabulary size test result, it showed that the highest score was 90, the lowest score was 57, and the average was 75.52. The results showed that the correlation value between the two variables was 0.67 and the value of vocabulary learning strategies toward vocabulary size was 0.45. It indicated that there was a significant correlation between students' vocabulary learning strategies and their vocabulary size.
