Abstrak

Masalah yang dibahas dalam penelitian ini adalah seberapa besar efektivitas media audio sebagai stimulus awal dalam pembelajaran tari Salsa siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 3 Natar Lampung Selatan. Berdasarkan masalah tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan hasil pembelajaran tari Salsa siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 3 Natar Lampung Selatan dengan stimulus awal menggunakan media audio dan tanpa penggunaan stimulus awal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX di SMP Negeri 3 Natar Lampung Selatan tahun ajaran 2011/2012, berjumlah 184 siswa yang tersebar di dalam 5 kelas. Penelitian ini dilakukan hanya pada sampel. Penyampelan diperoleh melalui teknik cluster random sampling. Sampel tersebut ialah kelas IX C untuk kelompok eksperimen dan kelas IX E untuk kelompok kontrol. Masing-masing kelompok berjumlah 16 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik tes yang dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali untuk setiap kelasnya, yaitu tes awal dan tes akhir penelitian. Sebelum diberi perlakukan, rata-rata kemampuan awal menari salsa siswa kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol masing-masing sebesar 63,78 dan 63,72 yang dikatagorikan cukup. Setelah diberi perlakuan, rata-rata kemampuan menari Salsa siswa kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol masing-masing sebesar 75,28 dan 69,89 yang tergolong baik dan cukup. Setelah diberi perlakuan, skor rata-rata menari Salsa kelompok eksperimen dan kontrol, masing-masing meningkat 11,50 dan 6,17. Berdasarkan data tersebut, rata-rata peningkatan skor kemampuan di kelas eksperimen lebih besar daripada di kelas kontrol (11,50 dan 6,17). Rata-rata skor kemampuan menari Salsa siswa yang dilatih dengan menggunakan media audio sebagai stimulus awal (kelompok eksperimen) lebih besar dibandingkan dengan siswa yang tidak menggunakan media audio sebagai stimulus awal (kelompok kontrol). Hal itu ditunjukkan oleh thitung ttabel, yakni 6,063 1,691. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan media audio sebagai stimulus awal efektif digunakan dalam pengajaran tari Salsa. Penelitian ini berhasil membuktikan bahwa penggunaan media audio sebagai stimulus awal dapat mempengaruhi penguasaan tari Salsa dengan taraf kepercayaan 95% (α = 0,05). The research problem of this research was how much the effectiveness of audio media as the first stimulus in training Salsa dance at SMPN 3 Natar, South Lampung. Based on the research problem, this research was aimed to find and describe the training result of Salsa dance in the 9th grade students of SMPN 3 Natar, South Lampung by using audio media as the beginning stimulus without using another first stimulus. The research method used was experimental method. This research population was all of students in the 9th grade of SMPN 3 Natar, South Lampung, school year of 2011/2012, which consisted of 184 students of 5 classes. This research was implemented only in the sample. The sampling method was obtained through cluster random sampling technique. The samples were IX C class as the experimental class and IX E class as the control class. Each group consisted of 16 students. The data collecting technique was done through test technique which was given twice for each class, such as pre-test and post-test. Before the treatment, the Salsa dance pre-test mean score of the experimental class was 63.78; meanwhile, the Salsa dance pre-test mean score of the control class was 63.72, in which both of the scores were categorized average. After the treatment, the Salsa dance post-test mean score of the experimental class was 75,28 which was categorized good; meanwhile the Salsa dance post-test mean score of the control class was 69.89 which was categorized average. After the treatment, the mean score of the experimental class was increased 11.50; meanwhile, the mean score of the control class was increased 6.17. Based on the result of the data, the improvement of the experimental class (11.50) was higher than the control class (6.17). The Salsa dance mean score of the students, who were trained through audio media as the beginning stimulus (experimental class), was higher than the mean score of the students who were not trained through audio media as the beginning stimulus (control class). It was showed by the t-table that 6.063>1.691. Based on the result of the research, it could be concluded that the use of audio media as the beginning stimulus was effective to be used in Salsa dance training. This research was successful in proving that the use of audio media as the beginning stimulus could affect Salsa dance mastery with 95% (α=0.05) of reliability level.
