Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

The problems that were found by researcher as geography’s teacher in XII IPS 1 class of SMA Kartikatama Metro in teaching and learning process were the low of motivation, activity, and achievement in studying. It was known based on observation and the data of student’s learning achievement in the former research. The casse motivated the researcher to do a research about motivation, activity and students’ learning achievement especially for students of XII IPS 1 class of SMA Kartikatama Metro. The research aimed to describe the usage of “Ceramah Plus” method in order to improve motivation and activity, and in the end could increase students’ learning achievement in geography lesson of XII IPS 1 class of SMA Kartikatama Metro academic year 2010/2011 in a basic competence of practicing the basic skill of map and mapping. The research was action research in the term of classroom action research that used descriptive analytical approach. The subject was 37 students of XII IPS 1 class of SMA Kartikatama Metro. In order to gather the data, researcher applied many techniques; they were observation, interview, questionnaire, test, photos and other documents that were needed. The research procedures were planning the action, acting, observing, and analyzing the former data (data reduction, data explanation, and reflection). The latest data analyzed and in order to know the data validity, triangulation was used in this research. Result of the research proved that the applying of “Ceramah Plus Diskusi dan Tugas (CPDT)” method in basic competence of practicing the basic skill of map and mapping of students of XII IPS 1 SMA Kartikatama Metro could improve student’s learning motivation and activity; and in the end, this method could increase the students’ learning achievement.
