ABSTRAK. Isu etnisitas adalah salah satu masalah yang menjadi sorotan dalam setiap Pilkada. Contohnya adalah pada saat pemilihan gubernur langsung Provinsi Lampung pada tahun 2008 lalu, adalah munculnya kelompok-kelompok paguyuban atau kekerabatan yang memberikan dukungan terhadap salah satu pasangan calon Gubernur dan Wakil Gubernur yang mengikuti Pilgub. Dukungan tersebut sangat mudah kita ketahui karena dukungan tersebut dideklarasikan melalui media massa tetapi ada pula dukungan yang tidak terpublikasikan. Politisasi etnis adalah praktek politik yang menjadikan isu etnis sebagai salah satu instrumen elit politik dalam mencapai tujuan tertentu. Dengan menggandeng etnis tertentu elit politik memanfaatkannya untuk memperoleh dukungan suara dalam Pilkada. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan tipe deskriptif. Dimana sumber data diperoleh dengan secara sengaja (purposive) dengan jumlah informan 4 (empat orang) yaitu Prof. Dr. Sunarto, S.H, M.H (Akademisi), Hi. Mukri M.Z (Guru Besar Paku Banten), Drs. Hi. Dadang Iskandar (Sekretaris Umum Paku Banten), Chairullah Gultom (Mantan Ketua KPU Lampung), Ahmad Rodiani (Warga Banten). Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara mendalam dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan prosedur reduksi data, penyajian data dan verifikasi data. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui ada apa dibalik instruksi dari Guru Besar Paku Banten Hi. Mukri M.Z untuk memilih Sjachroedin Z.P pada Pilgub 2008. Selain itu keberadaan Drs. Hi. Sjachroedin Z.P sebagai Ketua Dewan Pembina Paku Banten menjadikan alasan mengapa Perguruan Paku Banten harus mendukung Sjachroedin Z.P pada Pilgub 2008. dengan menggunakan posisinya sebagai Ketua Dewan Pembina dari Perguruan Paku Banten, Sjachroedin Z.P mendapatkan dukungan dari seluruh anggota dari Perguruan Paku Banten. Dalam hal ini Sjachroedin Z.P telah melakukan politisasi terhadap anggota Perguruan Paku Banten pada Pemilihan Gubernur Lampung 2008 lalu. Selain itu faktor dari kepemimipinan dari Hi. Mukri M.Z dan kedekatan dengan Sjachroedin Z.P juga berpengaruh terhadap keputusan untuk mendukung Sjachroedin Z.P pada Pemilihan Gubernur Lampung 2008. SJAHCROEDIN Z.P ON ELECTION OF GOVERNOR LAMPUNG 2008 By FERRYZAR AFRIATAMA SEMIDANG The issues of ethnicity is one of the problems that were highlighted in every election. For example when the direct election of Lampung Province in 2008, was the emergence of community groups or kinship that provide support for one candidate pair Governor and Deputy Governor of follow Pilgub. Support is very easy because we know that support is declared through the media but there is also support that no unpublished. Politicization of ethnicity is a political practice that makes the ethnic issue as one of the instruments of the political elite in achieving certain goals. By holding specific ethnic political elites exploit to gain support in electoral votes. The purpose of this research is to determine how the Organization of base on Bantenese ( Java Serang) Perguruan Paku Banten in supporting the election of Drs. Sjachroedin ZP as the Governor of Lampung 2009-2014 period can occur. This study uses qualitative research methods with the type of descriptive. Where is the source of the data obtained by using the purposive sampling with the number of informants 4 (four peoples) is Prof. Dr. Sunarto, S.H, M.H (Academics), Hi. Mukri M.Z (Guru Besar Paku Banten), Drs. Hi. Dadang Iskandar (General Secretary of Paku Banten), Chairullah Gultom (Former Chairman of the Election Commission Lampung), Ahmad Rodiani (Citizens Banten). Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews and documentation. While the data analysis techniques using data reduction procedures, presentation of data and verification data. The results of this research was to known what's going on behind the instruction of Guru Besar Perguruan Paku Banten Hi. Mukri M.Z to vote Sjachroedin ZP on Election of Governor Lampung 2008. Besides the presence of Drs. Hi. Sjachroedin ZP as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Perguruan Paku Banten that was a reason why Perguruan Paku Banten should support Sjachroedin Z.P on Election of Governor Lampung 2008. Using his position as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Perguruan Paku Banten, Sjachroedin Z.P get support from all members of the Perguruan Paku Banten. In this case Sjachroedin ZP has the politicization of the members of the Perguruan Paku Banten Lampung on Election of Governor Lampung 2008. Besides that, factors of Leadership from Hi. Mukri MZ and proximity to the Sjachroedin Z.P was also influenced by the decision to support the Sjachroedin Z.P in on Election of Governor Lampung 2008.
