Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Abstract Sejak pertamakali masuk ke Indonesia pada tahun 1990-an, civil society mendapat apresiasi dan respon besar dari kalangan intelektual di Indonesia. Kalangan intelektual di Indonesia mulai mencari dan mempelajari konsep yang datangnya dari Barat ini. Berbagai terjemahan dari makna civil society bermunculan dari kalangan intelektual di Indonesia. Salah satu terjemahan makna dari civil society adalah masyarakat madani. Istilah ini diperkenalkan oleh Anwar Ibrahim dan kemudian dikembangkan oleh intelektual Indonesia. Namun usaha tersebut dapat dikatakan gagal, karena definisi dari masyarakat madani masih mendekati konsep asal yaitu civil society. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif dengan tipe penelitian deskriptif. Dimana Sumber data yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah data yang diperoleh dari studi kepustakaan dan studi dokumentasi, yaitu dengan mempelajari dan menganalisa buku-buku, artikel-artikel, majalah-majalah, website-website dan lain sebagainya yang berhubungan dengan penelitian ini. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumenter. Sedangkan dalam menganalisis data menggunakan teknik analysis content dan metode tafsir hermeunetik. Sebagai seorang intelektual, Nurcholish Madjid selalu mengeluarkan gagasan-gagasan yang independen, universal dan inklusif. Termasuk gagasannya mengenai masyarakat madani. Hal ini tidak terlepas dari pola pikir Nurcholish Madjid yang terbuka, modern dan universal terutama dalam wacana keagamaan dan politik. Pola pikir ini tidak terlepas dari latar belakang keluarga, pendidikan lingkungan berinteraksi dan tokoh-tokoh yang dikaguminya. Sehingga membentuk seorang sosok Nurcholish Madjid yang mempunyai pemikiran yang khas. Hal tersebut dapat dilihat dalam konsepsi masyarakat madani yang beliau keluarkan. Nurcholish Madjid memberikan konsepsi yang berbeda dari intelektual lainnya dalam memaknai masyarakat madani. Dengan menggunakan referensi kehidupan Islam klasik sebagai landasan dari masyarakat madani. Nurcholish Madjid berhasil menciptakan sebuah konsepsi masyarakat madani yang berdiri sendiri dan berbeda dengan civil society yang berasal dari Barat. Konsepsi masyarakat madani yang digagas oleh Nurcholish Madjid tersebut, merupakan kolaborasi dari ide-ide Nurcholish Madjid mengenai Keislaman dan kemodernan dengan dilandasi dengan teologi inklusif yang merupakan ciri khas beliau. Menurut Nurcholish Madjid ada 6 (enam) ciri atau syarat suatu masyarakat dapat dikatakan sebagai masyarakat madani, keenam ciri tersebut adalah: patuh terhadap hukum, adanya toleransi, menjunjung prinsip pluralisme, egalitarianisme, penghargaan berdasarkan prestasi, serta keterbukaan partisipasi seluruh masyarakat. Menurut Nurcholish Madjid, keenam ciri tersebut haruslah diciptakan, sehingga apabila keenam ciri atau syarat tersebut dapat diterapkan maka akan tercipta sebuah tatanan masyarakat yang berperadaban atau masyarakat madani. Including ideas about civil society. This is not independent of Nurcholish Madjid mindset that is open, modern and universal, especially in religious and political discourse. This mindset can not be separated from his family background, education and environment interact figures that she admires. Thus forming a figure that has Nurcholish Madjid typical thinking. This can be seen in the conception of civil society that he remove it. Nurcholish Madjid provide different conceptions of other intellectuals of understanding of civil society. Using as reference the classical Islamic life as the foundation of civil society. Nurcholish Madjid managed to create a conception of civil society that stands alone and different from the civil society that come from the West. Conception of civil society was initiated by the Nurcholish Madjid, a collaboration of ideas and Nurcholish Madjid about modernity with Islamic theology is based on inclusiveness, which is typical of him. According to Nurcholish Madjid have 6 (six) characteristics or conditions of a society can be said as a civil society, the six traits are: adherence to the law, tolerance, respect for the principles of pluralism, egalitarianism, an award based on merit, and openness of participation of all communities. According to Nurcholish Madjid, the sixth feature must be created, so that if the six traits or conditions can be implemented it will create a civilized order of society or civil society.
