Abstract
ABSTRAK Dalam Keluarga pemulung, masalah utama yang dihadapi pada saat ini adalah rendahnya atau kurang pedulinya mereka terhadap pendidikan anak. Hal ini tercermin dari data tingkat pendidikan anak-anak pemulung di Kelurahan Sumur Batu bahwa presentase anak-anak yang tidak bersekolah atau putus sekolah masih sangat tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktorfaktor yang berhubungan dengan persepsi keluarga pemulung tentang pendidikan anak. Sampel penelitian ini berjumlah 81 keluarga pemulung, pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Simpel Random Sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan kuesioner, wawancara, obsevasi, dan pengumpulan data sekunder, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan dengan cara analisis tabulasi silang melalui program pengolahan data statistik, yaitu SPSS. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa ada korelasi yang signifikan antara jumlah anak, tingkat pendidikan pemulung, pendapatan keluarga pemulung, biaya pendidikan anak, dan dukungan pendidikan di lingkungan tempat tinggal dengan persepsi pemulung tentang pendidikan anak. Kata kunci: Pemulung, pendidikan anak, jumlah anak, pendapatan pemulung, biaya pendidikan. ABSTRACT In a family of scavengers, the main problem facing at the moment is low or less concerned for their children to education. This is reflected in the data level of education of children of scavengers in the village wells Stone that the percentage of children who do not attend school or drop out of school is still very high. This study aims to determine the factors related to the perception of scavenger families about children's education. The research sample totaled 81 families scavengers, sampling is done by using Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collection techniques in this research using questionnaires, interviews, observation, and secondary data collection, while data analysis is done by cross tabulation analysis through statistical data processing programs, namely SPSS. The results showed that there was a significant correlation between the number of children, education level scavengers, scavengers family income, children's education expenses, and support education in neighborhoods with scavenger perceptions about children's education Keywords: Scavenger, children's education, number of children, income scavengers, the cost of education.
