Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mengetahui pengaruh sex ratio ayam arab terhadap fertilitas, daya tetas, dan bobot tetas dan (2) mengetahui pengaruh sex ratio terbaik dari ayam arab terhadap fertilitas, daya tetas,dan bobot tetas. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Agustus 2015 di Desa Tegalrejo, Kecamatan Gadingrejo, Kabupaten Pringsewu. Penelitian ini menggunakan ayam arab sebanyak 144 ekor terdiri dari 18 jantan dan 126 betina. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) terdiri dari 3 perlakuan sex ratio dengan 6 ulangan yaitu P1 ( 1:5), P2 (1:7),dan P3 (1:9). Setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 8 butir telur ayam arab. Rata- rata bobot awal berkisar antara 42,96 ± 3,5 g/butir dengan koefisien keragaman ± 8, 14 %. Data yang diperoleh dari percobaan ini dianalisis sesuai dengan asumsi sidik ragam pada taraf nyata 5 %. Hasil Penelitian menunjukan bahwa sex ratio jantan dan betina 1:5, 1:7, dan 1:9 memberikan pengaruh tidak berbeda nyata ( P>0,05)terhadap fertilitas, daya tetas, dan bobot tetas ayam arab. Kata kunci: sex ratio, ayam arab, fertilitas, daya tetas, dan bobot tetas ABSTRAK BAHASA INGGRIS This study aimed to determine (1) the effect of sex ratio of arabic chicken on fertility, hatchibility , and doc weight and (2) to determine the best sex ratio of arabic chicken on fertility, hatchability, and doc weight. This study was conducted in August 2015 at Tegalrejo village, Gadingrejo districk, Pringsewu regency. This research use 144 arabic chicken consisted of 18 males and 126 females. This research use the complete randomized design with 3 treatments and 6 times replications. Every treatments use 8 of the arabic chiken eggs. The average of hatching egg weight is 42,96 ±3,5 g. The result shown that sex ratio effect is not significant (P>0,05) to fertility, hatchability, and doc weight arabic chicken. Keywords : Sex ratio.
