Abstract

Cacing sutra merupakan pakan alami untuk ikan hias dan benih ikan konsumsi karena ukurannya yang kecil dan memiliki kandungan nutrisi yang tinggi. Kandungan C-organik dan N-organik berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan cacing sutra. Lumpur budidaya lele merupakan sumber N-organik yang tepat bagi budidaya cacing sutra karena mengandung 154.00 ppm N-total. Selain lumpur budidaya lele, jerami merupakan salah satu sumber bahan organik yang berpotensial karena mengandung rasio C/N berkisar 15-25. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh komposisi media yang berbeda (jerami padi dan lumpur budidaya lele) sebagai media budidaya cacing sutra terhadap biomassa dan populasi cacing sutra. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap dengan empat perlakuan dan empat kali ulangan. Perlakuan berupa komposisi jerami fermentasi dan lumpur budidaya lele 30%, 55%, 80% dan 100% lumpur budidaya lele. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi media yang berbeda (jerami fermentasi dan lumpur budidaya lele) memberikan pengaruh nyata (p<0,05) terhadap biomassa dan populasi cacing sutra. Nilai tertinggi ditunjukkan oleh perlakuan komposisi 20% jerami fermentasi dan 80% lumpur budidaya lele dengan nilai biomassa sebesar 5314,63 gr/m2 dan nilai populasi sebesar 664.710 individu/m2. Kata kunci: cacing sutra, jerami, lumpur budidaya lele, C-organik, N-organik ABSTRACT Silkworm is a natural food for the juvenil of consumtion fish and the ornamental fish because of having small size and high nutrition for fish. The content of Corganic and N-organic affects the growth of silkworm. The catfish culture mud is source of N-organic for silkworm culture, due to containing 154.00 ppm N-total. Beside the mud, ricestraw is one of the potential source of organic as it contents the C/N ratio of 15-25. This research purpose was to study the effect of different media compositon (ricestraw and catfish culture mud) as a silkworm culture media toward biomass and silkworm population. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatments and four replications. The treatments were composition of fermentation ricestraw and catfish culture mud 30%, 55%, 80% and 100% of catfish culture mud. The result showed that the different media composition of fermentation ricestraw and catfish culture mud have significaly effect (p<0,05) on the biomass dan population of silkworm. The higest value had been showed in the treatment of 20% fermentation ricestraw and 80% catfish culture mud composition with 5314,63 gr/m2 of silkworm biomass value and 664.710 individual/m2 of silkworm population value.
