ABSTRAK DETEKSI SENSITIFITAS CURAH HUJAN BULANAN TERHADAP EL NINO DI PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN Oleh ERZA NANDANA SEMBIRING Fenomena El Nino yang terjadi di Indonesia akhir-akhir ini menyebabkan banyak kekeringan di berbagai daerah pada khusunya di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan. Kondisi ini disebabkan karena meningkatnya suhu di permukaan air laut di Samudera Pasifik equator bagian tengah dan timur. Akibatnya udara yang seharusnya bergerak dari Asia ke Australia dengan membawa uap air tidak melewati Indonesia melainkan berbelok ke Pasifik bagian timur. Hal ini menyebabkan curah hujan di Indonesia berkurang. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder berupa data curah hujan bulanan selama 20 tahun dari tahun 1995 sampai tahun 2015 yang diperoleh dari Badan Meteorologi Klimatologi dan Geofisika yang berada di kota Palembang dan beberapa stasiun hujan kabupaten di Provinsi Sumatera Selatan yaitu STA Kotamadya Palembang, STA Kabupaten OKU Selatan (Simpang Campang Muaradua Kisam), STA Kabupaten OKU Timur (Belitang), STA Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir (Kayu Agung), STA Kabupaten Muara Enim, STA Kabupaten Musi Rawas (Tugumulyo), STA Kabupaten Musi Banyuasin (Sekayu). Dari hasil perhitungan identifikasi tahun basah dan tahun kering maka dapat diketahui peristiwa Elnino sering terjadi pada tahun kering di musim kemarau saja. Sehingga El Nino tidak berpengaruh terhadap musim hujan. Kata kunci : El Nino, Tahun Basah ,Tahun Kering ABSTRACT THE SENSITIVITY DETECTION OF MONTHLY RAINFALL AGAINST EL NINO IN SOUTH SUMATERA PROVINCE By ERZA NANDANA SEMBIRING El Nino phenomenon that occurred in Indonesia recently caused many droughts in various of area, especially in South Sumatera province. This condition was caused by the increase of temperatures in sea surface of central and eastern Pacific Ocean equatorial. As a result, the air that supposed to move from Asia to Australia with water vapor did not pass through Indonesia but it turned to the eastern Pacific and caused the reduced of rainfall in Indonesia. This research used secondary data namely the data of monthly rainfall for 20 years from 1995 to 2015 that obtained from the Meteorology, climatology and Geophysics Agency in Palembang city and some of districts rain station in South Sumatra Province namely STA of Palembang city, STA of south Ogan Komering Ulu regency (Simpang Campang Muaradua Kisam), STA east Ogan Komering Ulu regency (Belitang), STA of Ogan Komering Ilir regency (Kayu Agung), STA of Muara Enim regency, STA of Musi Rawas regency (Tugumulyo), and STA of Musi Banyuasin regency (Sekayu). The calculation result of wet and dry years identification showed that Elnino events often occur in dry years namely in dry season only. So that El Nino did not affect the rainy season.
