Industri kelapa sawit di Indonesia merupakan salah satu sektor penting dalam pembangunan perekonomian indonesia. Selain menghasilkan minyak kelapa sawit (CPO), industri kelapa sawit juga menghasilkan limbah yang pemanfaatannya belum maksimal sehingga dapat mencemari lingkungan. Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit (TKKS) merupakan salah satu limbah padat kelapa sawit. Cara penanganan limbah padat industri kelapa sawit salah satunya adalah diolah menjadi asap cair dengan teknik pirolisis. Asap cair hasil pemanfaatan TKKS memberikan banyak nilai tambah dari produk yang dihasilkan serta dapat meningkatkan mutu lateks. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi potensi serta kelayakan finansial untuk membangun industri asap cair di Provinsi Lampung. Alat analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis potensi usaha dengan Metode Perbandingan Eksponensial (MPE), kemudian dilakukan analisis finansial suatu usaha berdasarkan nilai keuntungan, BEP, PP, NPV, IRR, Net B/C ratio dan analisis sensitivitas untuk melihat tingkat kepekaan kelayakan suatu usaha apabila terjadi perubahan harga. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa Industri asap cair berpotensi untuk di bangun di Kab Mesuji, berdasarkan hasil MPE asap cair merupakan produk unggulan pertama (Potensial) dengan nilai akhir terbesar yaitu 2900, kemudian kedua adalah kompos dengan nilai akhir sebesar 2890 dan terakhir industri Pulp dengan nilai akhir 894. Bersasarkan hasil analisis finansial menunjukan bahwa rencana pembangunan industri asap cair berbahan baku TKKS di Kabupaten Mesuji Provinsi Lampung layak untuk dikembangkan dengan nilai kriteria kelayakan Investasi yakni NPV sebesar Rp 991.486.765; Net B/C rasio sebesar 2,50; IRR sebesar 36,59% dan PP selama 2,83 tahun. Industri asap cair berbahan baru TKKS cukup sensitif terhadap harga jual produk. ABSTRAK BAHASA INGGRIS The palm oil industry in Indonesia is one of the important sectors in the economic development of Indonesia. Other than crude palm oil, the industry also produces waste of which utilization is not maximum yet that it may later defile the environment.The empty fruit bunches of of palm oil is one of the solid wastes of palm oil products. One of the ways to handle the solid waste of a palm oil industry is processing it into a liquid smoke through pyrolysis technique. The liquid smoke resulted from processing the empty fruit bunches of palm added much more value to the product and it can also improve the quality of latex. The purpose of this research was to identify the potential and the financial appropriateness of establishing the liquid smoke industry in Lampung province. The method of analysis used in this research was Exponential Comparative Method. Furthermore, the financial analysis of a business was done based on the value off profit, BEP, PP, NPV, IRR, Net B/C ratio and the analysis of sensitivity in order to see the level of sensitiveness and appropriateness of a busineess when there is a change of price. The result of this research showed that the liquid smoke industry has the potential to be established in Mesuji region. Based on the exponential comparative analysis, liquid smoke was chosen as the first class premium product with the highest final rate that stands at 2900. The second product was compost with the final rate of 2890 and the last one is pulp industry with the final rate of 894.Based on the financial anaylisis result, it the plan of establishment of the empty fruit bunches liquid smoke industry in Mesuji regency in Lampung province is worth to develop with the appropriate criterion investment value of 991.486.765 Rupiahs; Net B/C ratio of 2.50; IRR of 36.59%, and PP of 2.83 years. This industry is also sensitive enough to the change of product selling price.
