Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah dengan adanya video tutorial skateboard melalui situs Youtube, informasi serta style atau teknik-teknik skateboard terbaru yang skater pemula butuhkan dapat terpenuhi dan dapat dipelajari tanpa terbatasi ruang dan waktu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1. Untuk mengetahui efektifitas terhadap peningkatan pemahaman teknik dasar pada skaters pemula, 2. Untuk mengetahui kekurangan dari video tutorial yang ada di situs Youtube sebagai media pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive (disengaja). Penelitian ini juga menggunakan Teori Uses and Gratification. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa video tutorial cukup efektif dalam memotivasi skater pemula untuk berlatih tanpa terhalang ruang dan waktu, sehingga mampu membantu meningkatkan kemampuan teknik pada skater pemula. Pada analisis hasil penelitian telah dijelaskan bahwa pada video tutorial memiliki tiga tahapan yaitu, Basic, Intermediate, dan Extreme. Tetapi yang paling sering diakses dan diaplikasikan adalah tahapan basic dan intermediate, jarang yang mengaplikasikan tahap extreme karena tahap tersebut membutuhkan pengawasan dari para ahli. Kata kunci: Efektifitas Video Tutorial, Peningkatan kemampuan teknik para skater pemula abstract The Background of this research was skateboard tutorial in Youtube and by this means the current style or skateboard techniques needed by the beginner skateboarders could be fulfilled and they could learn without time and space limitations.The objectives of the research were: 1. To find out the effectiveness of basic technique understanding improvements for beginner skaters; 2.To find out shortcoming of tutorial videos in Youtube as a learning media. This research uses descriptive and qualitative methods. Informants in this research were taken with purposive sampling technique. The research use the theory of uses and gratification. The results showed that the tutorial videos were effective enough to motivate beginner skater to train without time and space limitations, so that they were able to help them to improve their techniques. The analysis of the research results explained that the tutorial videos had three stages of Basic, Intermediate, and Extreme. The skaters seldom applied extreme stage because this stage required monitoring from experts.. Keyword: tutorials video effectiveness, beginner skaters’ technique improvements
