ABSTRAK Keterampilan berpikir kritis penting bagi siswa karena melalui keterampilan ini siswa dapat lebih mudah memahami konsep IPA yang bersifat abstrak. Buku teks dan buku sekolah elektronik yang ada tidak merangsang dan/atau melatih siswa untuk berpikir kritis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar berupa e-book interaktif yang dapat menumbuhkembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia yang valid, praktis, dan efektif. Desain penelitian mengadopsi model pengembangan Borg & Gall (1998) yang disederhanakan menjadi tiga tahap yaitu tahap pendahuluan, perancangan/disain model, dan pengujian produk. Kelayakan e-book interaktif diukur dari hasil validasi ahli. Kepraktisan dapat dilihat dari obervasi proses pembelajaran dan respon siswa. Keefektivan e-book interaktif dapat dilihat dari hasil tes keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII di SMP Al Kautsar Bandar Lampung yang berjumlah 70 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-book interaktif pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia valid (layak) dan praktis untuk digunakan sebagai sumber belajar bagi siswa. E-book interaktif juga efektif digunakan untuk menumbuhkembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan tingkat keefektifan sedang (N-gain = 0,54). Kata kunci: berpikir kritis, e-book interaktif, sistem pencernaan manusia ABSTRACT Critical thinking skill is important since with this skill it will be easier for student to understand concepts of science that somehow abstract in nature. The available textbooks and electronic books do not encourage and/or foster student’s critical thinking skill. The research objective was to develop an interactive e-book on the subject matter of human digestion system that valid, feasible or practical, and effective to improve student‘s critical thinking skill. The design of this study was research and development (R&D) according to the model of Borg and Gall (1998), which simplified into three stages i.e. introductory, model development (designing), and model testing. The validity of the interactive e-book was based on the judgment of expert validators. The feasibility (practicality) of the interactive e-book was valued from the results of the feasibility assessment and student responses. The effectivity of the interactive e-book was measured from the result of the critical thinking skills test. The research subject were 70 students of SMP Al Kautsar Bandar Lampung. Result showed that the interactive e-book on the subject matter of human digestion system were valid (eligible) and feasible to be used as learning material. The interactive e-book was also effective to improve students critical thinking skills with medium levels of effectiveness (N-gain = 0,54).
