ABSTRAK Abstrak: CATCH atau Caring About The Concepts that Help merupakan sebuah program yang dicetuskan oleh Nguyen dari Duke University pada tahun 2013, untuk menjangkau siswa yang memiliki kemampuan akademik rendah. Pada penelitian ini, dilakukan Pengembangan program CATCH meliputi tahap pra pengembangan, tahap pengembangan, dan tahap pasca pengembangan, untuk menjangkau semua siswa dengan kemampuan heterogen. Metode yang digunakan adalah tutor sebaya, yang menuntut tutor untuk memiliki kemampuan interaksi sosial, memiliki tanggung jawab lebih terhadap tutee, keterampilan akademik. Subjek penelitian pengembangan ini adalah siswa-siswi SMP Darma Bangsa Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2016-2017. Produk, dikembangkan mengikuti alur Akker meliputi pendahuluan dan uji formatif, dengan Tessemer sebagai acuan untuk uji formatif terdiri dari 1) evaluasi diri, 2) uji ahli, 3) uji perorangan, 4) uji kelas kecil, dan 5) uji terbatas. Produk yang telah dikembangkan, di-implementasikan pada 1 kelas VIII sebagai kelas uji terbatas. Pengambilan skor self-efficacy dari skala self-efficacy dan data kemampuan komunikasi matematis dari pemberian tes komunikasi matematis. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan program CATCH berbasis modul memenuhi standar kelayakan materi, desain, dan bahasa. Hasil uji coba one to one menunjukkan bahwa keterbacaan dan respon siswa terhadap program dalam kategori sangat baik, dan uji small group menunjukkan keterbacaan dan tingkat pemahaman terhadap materi termasuk kategori baik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan program CATCH berbasis modul efektif meningkatkan self-efficacy dan juga efektif meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Dengan demikian, hasil uji efektivitas penggunaan pengembangan program CATCH berbasis modul adalah efektif meningkatkan self-efficacy dan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. CATCH or Caring About The Concepts that Help is a program which is initiated by Nguyen (2013) to reach out the students with low capability. This research uses CATCH development program that consists of pre development, development, and post development. The aim is to improve the effective program to the effectivity of self efficacy and the students’ mathematics communication. The methodology that is used is peer tutoring program. It demands the tutor to have social interaction skill, responsibility towards the tutee and academic ability. The subject of this research is the students of Darma Bangsa Junior High School Academic Year 0f 2016-2017. The product is developed by the system of Akker (2003). It consists of introduction and formative test with Tessemer (1993) as the guidance of formative test. It measures: (1) self evaluation; (2) expert review; (3) one to one; (4) small group; and (5) field test. The developed-product is implemented to one class of grade 8 as the field test. The self-efficacy scoring is got from self-efficacy scale and the data of mathematics communication ability based on mathematics communication test. The expert validation shows that CATCH developed-program based on module to fulfill the standard of material, design, and language. The result of one to one test shows the positive result based on the students’ response after getting the program and the students’ responsibility toward the program. Then, the test of small group shows the positive result of the reading efficiency and their understanding of the material. The research shows that the development of CATCH program based on module is the effective way to improve self-efficacy and it is also positive to improve the students’ mathematics communication. Briefly, the resultof effectiveness test of CATCH developed-program based on module is effective to improve self-efficacy and te student’ mathematics communication.
