Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

ABSTRACT The text writing ability from observation results in Grade VII students in Public Junior High School 13 in Bandar Lampung was low. Therefore, a solution needs to seek to improve the students’ abilities. The objectives of this research were to describe (1) lesson plan, (2) learning conduct, (3) learning assessment, and (4) learning improvement through problem based learning model of text writing material from observation result in students of Public Junior High School 13 in Bandar Lampung in academic year 2016/2017. This was a class action research which was conducted in two cycles. Cycle I was learning through problem based learning model by using picture media, and cycle II was learning through problem based learning model by using report video media made by teachers. Data were collected by using test and non-test methods. The results showed that there were improvements of (1) learning plan through problem based learning model in cycle I and the learning belonged to good category, while in cycle II the learning belonged to very good category; (2) the learning conduct through problem based learning model changed the nuance of learning into being more attractive, and the students activities were improved in the marked learning in cycle I, while in the cycle II the learning belonged to very good category; (3) assessment processes through problem based learning, where students averagely got score of 72.23 which belonged to unaccomplished category in the cycle I, while in cycle II students got average score of 86.33 with accomplished category; and (4) learning activities in a whole to be seen from the assessment result from lesson plan drafting, learning conduct, and learning assessment in cycle II which was better that cycle I. ABSTRAK Kemampuan menulis teks hasil observasi Siswa Kelas VII SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung memiliki prestasi yang rendah. Oleh karena itu, perlu dicari solusinya agar kemampuan siswa meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) rencana pembelajaran, (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran, (3) penilaian pembelajaran, dan (4) peningkatan pembelajaran melalui model problem based learning materi menulis teks hasil observasi pada Siswa SMP Negeri 13 Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2016/ 2017. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus. Siklus I, pembelajaran melalui model problem based learning menggunakan media gambar dan siklus II, pembelajaran melalui model problem based learning menggunakan media video liputan guru. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes dan nontes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan (1) rencana pembelajaran melalui model problem based learning, yaitu siklus I, pembelajaran dalam kategori baik, sedangkan siklus II, pembelajaran dalam kategori sangat baik, (2) pelaksanaan pembelajaran melalui model problem based learning telah mengubah suasana pembelajaran menjadi lebih menarik, meningkatkan keaktifan siswa dalam pembelajaran yang ditandai, yaitu siklus I, pembelajaran dalam kategori baik, sedangkan siklus II, pembelajaran dalam kategori sangat baik, (3) proses penilaian melalui model problem based learning, yaitu siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata 72,23 dengan kategori belum tuntas pada siklus I, sedangkan siswa memperoleh nilai rata-rata 86,33 dengan kategori tuntas pada siklus II, dan (4) kegiatan pembelajaran secara keseluruhan, apabila dilihat hasil penilaian dari penyusunan rencana pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan penilaian pembelajaran siklus II lebih baik daripada siklus I.
