ABSTRAK Teknologi reproduksi untuk budidaya lobster pasir (Panulirus homarus) belum mengalami perkembangan. Manipulasi lingkungan dan hormonal merupakan cara yang efektif dan murah dalam merangsang sekresi hormon untuk mempercepat perkembangan gonad.Penelitian ini mencoba mengaplikasikan peran dari hormon tiroksin untuk mempercepat pematangan gonad lobster pasir jantan, sehingga didapatkan informasi yang berguna untuk menunjang proses pembenihan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh hormon tiroksin pada perkembangan gonad induk jantan lobster pasir. Penelitian dilakukan dengan 2 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Perlakuan berupa penyuntikan lobster pasir jantan dengan hormon tiroksin 0,1 µg/g dan NaCl fisiologis (kontrol). Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dan juga menggunakan analisa Uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian hormon tiroksin 0,1 µg/g tidak berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan gonad induk jantan lobster pasir. Kata kunci: Lobster Pasir Jantan, Tiroksin, Gonad, Histologi, GSI. ABSTRACT Technology of reproduction in sand lobster (Panulirus homarus) aquaculture has not progressing yet. Environmental and hormonal manipulation are the effective and cheap way to stimulate hormone secretions to accelerate the gonad development. This research try to apply the role of thyroxine hormone to accelerate gonad maturation of male sand lobster, thus we get useful information to support the hatchery process. The research goal was to studying the effect of thyroxine hormone to gonad development of male sand lobster broodstock. Research was conducted with 2 treatment and 3 replication. Treatments consist of injecting male sand lobster with 0,1 µg/g thyroxine hormone and physiological NaCl (control). Obtained data were analyzed by descriptive analysis and T test analysis. The research result showed that injection of 0,1 µg/g thyroxine hormone has no effect on gonad development of male sand lobster broodstock.
