ABSTRAK Hutan rakyat merupakan salah satu alternatif pemecahan masalah terhadap tekanan sumber daya hutan. Manfaat yang diperoleh masyarakat tergantung pada pengelolaan yang dilakukan oleh petani hutan rakyat. Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat dan menganalisis strategi pengembangan hutan apa yang cocok untuk hutan rakyat di Desa Bandar Dalam. Waktu penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei 2015. Data yang dikumpulkan adalah data potensi kayu yang dianalisis secara kuantitatif. Data potensi kayu diambil secara purposive dengan menggunakan petak ukur persegi berukuran 10m x 10m dengan intensitas sampling sebesar 1%. Analisis SWOT dilakukan untuk menentukan pengembangan yang tepat di hutan rakyat Desa Bandar Dalam. Strategi pengembangan hutan rakyat yang diperoleh adalah pemeliharaan terhadap pohon, mengurangi kelemahan pengetahuan tentang hutan dengan meningkatkan pengetahuan mengenai manfaat hutan dan mengurangi ancaman dengan menggunakan teknologi sederhana seperti penggunaan alat pertanian yang lengkap dan pemupukan. Kata kunci : hasil hutan, kayu hutan rakyat, strategi pengembangan ABSTRACT The private forest is one of alternative solutions to the pressure of forest resources. The benefits has received by the public depends on the management carried out by private forest farmers. This study aimed to determine the potential of timber private forest analyze the development strategies in Bandar Dalam. The study was conducted in May 2015. The data was collected in the form of a potential data timber from private forest analyzed quantitatively. The method used purposive sampling by square plots measuring 10m x 10m with sampling intensity of 1%. SWOT analysis was used the proper development of the forest of Bandar Dalam. The development strategy applied the power factor of the opportunities of regular maintenance, reducing weaknesses by improving knowledge of the forest, using the opportunity to improve the fertility of crops, and away from the threat of using simple technology.
