Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to produce the textbook of social studies based on inquiry method at the fourth grade of elementary school and to increase the students’ learning outcomes. This research was used Research and Development (R&D) method with Sukmadinata’s approach. In collecting the data the researcher was used questionnaires and multiple choice test. The sample was taken by using multi stage random sampling with 56 students as a total sample. Furthermore, 3 students is taken as personal testing subject, 9 students as small group testing subject, 40 students as field testing subject, and 1 student is a student with special needs. The data was analyzed by using t test. Furthermore, result of this research shows that the social study textbook that developed is valid and the results of product testing in the experimental and control class prove that the learning outcomes of students who using social study textbook based on inquiry method (experimental class) is higher than students who do not use the social study textbook based on inquiry method (control class). Key words : Social Studies, Textbook, Inquiry Method, and Learning Outcomes ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan produk buku ajar IPS berbasis inkuiri dan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV SD. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (Research & Development R&D), dengan pendekatan model Sukmadinata. Alat pengumpul data menggunakan lembar angket dan tes berupa soal pilihan ganda. Populasi penilitian ini 121 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik sampel acak bertingkat (Multistage Random Sampling), jumlah sampel 53 siswa. Selanjutnya ditetapkan 3 siswa sebagai subjek uji perorangan, 9 siswa sebagai subjek kelompok kecil dan 40 siswa untuk uji lapangan, sedangkan 1 orang siswa merupakan siswa berkebutuhan khusus. Data dianalisis menggunakan rumus Uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ajar berbasis inkuiri valid dan efektif digunakan sebagai bahan ajar dan hasil uji coba produk menunjukkan hasil belajar siswa yang mengunakan buku ajar IPS berbasis inkuiri (kelas eksperimen) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang tidak mengunakan buku ajar IPS berbasis inkuiri (kelas kontrol).
