Abstrak

ABSTRACT Synthesis of cellulose-poly lactic acid (cellulose-PLA) has been conducted as an encapsulation agent of antituberculosis medicine. The steps were isolation of cellulose from cassava bagasse, synthesis of PLA, and synthesis of cellulose-PLA using 3.5 M HCl solution and magnetic stirrer. The material was then analyzed using Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR), Particles Size Analyzer (PSA), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), and dissolution test. The uptake of hydroxy (3446 to 3429 cm-1) and carbonyl (1757 to 1759 cm-1) indicated bond between cellulose and PLA. Particle size distribution of cellulose-PLA was less than PLA. The size distribution of PLA was 960-92780 nm while cellulose-PLA was 100-17730 nm. Based on SEM image, rod like cellulose was entrapted in two molecules of sheared PLA. Based on dissolution test, the optimum time of cellulose-PLA-drug 0.3 % issolution was 12 hours, which dissolution value of 8.42 %. ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan sintesis selulosa-poli asam laktat (selulosa-PAL) sebagai bahan enkapsulasi obat antituberkulosis. Tahap yang dilakukan adalah isolasi selulosa dari onggok singkong, sintesis PAL, serta sintesis selulosa-PAL dengan menggunakan larutan HCl 3,5 M dan menggunakan alat magnetic stirrer. Material yang didapat kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan alat Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR), Particles Size Analyzer (PSA), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), dan uji disolusi. Adanya perngeseran serapan hidroksi (3446 ke 3429 cm-1) dan karbonil (1757 ke 1759 cm-1) menunjukkan bahwa telah terjadi ikatan antara selulosa dan PAL. Distribusi ukuran partikel selulosa-PAL lebih kecil daripada distribusi ukuran partikel PAL. Distribusi ukuran PAL sebesar 960-92780 nm sedangkan distribusi ukuran selulosa-PAL sebesar 100-17730 nm. Berdasarkan hasil analisis SEM, selulosa dengan morfologi batangan terjerat dalam dua molekul PAL yang memiliki morfologi lembaran. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji disolusi, waktu optimum disolusi selulosa-PAL-obat 0,3 % adalah 12 jam, dengan nilai persen disolusi sebesar 8,42 %.
