ABSTRACT ANALYSIS OF OPERATING PERFORMANCE OF THE COMPANYS BEFORE AND AFTER A RIGHT ISSUE OF COMPANIES LISTED ON THE INDONESIA STOCK EXCHANGE 2009-2013 By Muhammad Frassyda Pratama This study is a study of events that aims to determine the difference in the performance of the company's operations before and after a rights issue, to companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange 2009-2013, the company's operating performance is measured by using the ratio of return on assets, return on equity, total assets Turnover and sales growth. The population in this study is nonfinancial companies doing the rights issue on companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange 2009-2013. The sample in this study is obtained by 23 samples by using purposive sampling method. Analysis of data using descriptive statistic analysis, normality test, and different test of dummy variable regression. The level of error or significance used in this study is 5%. The results of different test dummy variable show that there is no significant difference in return on asset ratio, return on equity, total assets turnover, and sales growth These results indicate that the capital structure theory is not supported that explains that the addition of new shares shouldalways be able to represent the development of capital structure towards the optimal. ABSTRAK ANALISIS KINERJA OPERASI PERUSAHAAN SEBELUM DAN SETELAH MELAKUKAN RIGHT ISSUE PADA PERUSAHAAN YANG TERDAFTAR DI BURSA EFEK INDONESIA TAHUN 2009-2013 Oleh Muhammad Frassyda Pratama Penelitian ini merupakan studi peristiwa yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kinerja operasi perusahaan sebelum dan setelah melakukan right issue, terhadap perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2009-2013, kinerja operasi perusahaan diukur dengan menggunakan rasio return on assets, return on equity, total assets turnover dan sales growth. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan non-keuangan yang melakukan right issue pada perusahaan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia tahun 2009-2013. Sampel dalam penelitian ini diperoleh sebanyak 23 sampel dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling . Analisis data menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, dan uji beda regresi variabel dummy. Tingkat kesalahan atau signifikan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebesar 5%.. Hasil uji beda variabel dummy menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan pada rasio return on asset, return on equity, total assets turnover, dan sales growth. Hasil tersebut menunjukan bahwa tidak terdukung teori struktur modal yang menjelaskan bahwa penambahan saham baru seharusnya selalu mampu mewakili perkembangan struktur modal kearah yang optimal.
