Abstrak (Berisi Bastraknya saja, Judul dan Nama Tidak Boleh di Masukan)

ABSTRAK Penelitian yang dilaksanakan 8—27 Maret 2014 bertujuan untuk mengetahui suhu dan lama thawing yang optimal di dataran tinggi pada semen beku sapi Brahman. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan pola faktorial 3x3. Faktor I yaitu suhu (34°C, 37°C,dan 40°C) dan faktor II lama thawing (10 detik, 15 detik, dan 20 detik) dengan 3 kali ulangan. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah motilitas spermatozoa dan persentase spermatozoa hidup. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis dengan menggunakan Anova dan uji lanjut Duncan pada taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suhu dan lama thawing sama-sama memberikan pengaruh terhadap kualitas semen beku sapi Brahman, namun tidak memiliki interaksi diantara keduanya. Kualitas spermatozoa yang paling baik diperoleh pada suhu thawing 40ºC, dan pada lama thawing 20 detik. Pada suhu dan lama thawing tersebut memiliki rata-rata kualitas yang paling tinggi di antara perlakuan yang lain. Motilitas spermatozoa pada suhu thawing 40ºC sebesar 33,89% dan lama thawing 20 detik sebesar 35,56%. Persentase spermatozoa hidup pada suhu 40ºC sebesar 37,04% dan lama thawing 20 detik sebesar 35,43%. Kata kunci : Suhu dan lama thawing, semen beku, sapi Brahman, dataran tinggi. ABSTRACT The aim of this research was to determine the lest temperature and durations of thawing at high altitudes in frozen semen of Brahman bull. This research conducted in 8-27 March 2014. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3x3 factorial. The first factorial is temperature (34oC, 37oC, and 40oC) and second factorial is thawing durations with 3 replications. Variables were deserved in this researchs the percentage of alive sperm and sperm motility. Research data was analyzed by Anova and Duncan test at 5%. The result showed that the temperatures and thawing durations influence the quality of Brahman bull frozen semen, but has no interaction between them. Of this this research, the best quality of spermatozoa obtained at 40oC and the 20 second duration of thawing has the highest quality average among the other treatments. Motility of spermatozoa at 40oC is 33,89% and thawing duration at 20 second is 35,56%, the percentage of alive sperm at 40oC is 37,04% and the duration of thawing at 20 second is 35,43%.
