Abstrak

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 4 Metro semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014 dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas X2 dan X5. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Efektivitas model problem solving diukur berdasarkan perbedaan n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-Gain kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,4359 dan 0,6283. Berdasarkan pengujian hipotesis diketahui bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir orisinil siswa pada materi larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit. Kata kunci: kemampuan berpikir orisinil, larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit, model problem solving Abstract: The research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of problem solving model to increase student’s originality thinking skills on the electrolyte and non-electrolyte material. The population of this research was all students in X class of SMA Negeri 4 Metro whose sit in odd semester of Academy Year 2013-2014 and the samples were X2 and X5 class. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique. The method of this research was quasi-experiment with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The effectiveness of problem solving model was measured based on the significant difference of n-Gain score between control class and experiment class. The result showed that the average n-Gain score of student’s originality thinking skills of control class was 0,4359 and 0,6283 for experiment class. Based on the hypothesis testing, it was known that problem solving model was effective to increase student’s originality thinking skills on the electrolyte and non-electrolyte material.
