Abstrak

PENGGUNAAN HORMON PERTUMBUHAN REKOMBINAN (rGH) DALAM MEMACU PERTUMBUHAN LARVA IKAN BLACK GHOST (Apteronotus albifrons) abstract Black ghost is freshwater ornamental fish that has high economic value. Slow growth of fish become obstacle in fullfill market need. Recombinant growth hormone (rGH) is hormone that can increase growth of fish. This study to determine effect of recombinant growth hormone (rGH) with different concentrations on growth and survival black ghost larvae. Research was conducted in August - September 2017 at Fisheries Laboratory, Fisheries Department and Marine, Agriculture Faculty, Lampung University. This research used 4 treatments with 3 replications that black ghost larvae without immersion rGH (A), black ghost larvae soaked rGH 1 mg/ℓ, 3 mg/ℓ, and 5 mg/ℓ (B, C, and D). Parameters observed were growth of length, absolute weight, survival and water quality. Results showed that recombinant growth hormone (rGH) had a significant effect on the growth but not significant on survival of black ghost larvae. In conclusion, recombinant growth hormone (rGH) 5 mg/ℓ giving maximum response on length and weight growth of black ghost larvae.
