Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ukuran cacahan dan lama pengomposan tandan kosong kelapa sawit (TKKS) terhadap produktivitas jamur merang. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan April – Oktober 2017 di Laboratorium Lapang Terpadu, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Bahan yang digunakan ialah TKKS, bibit jamur merang f3, dedak padi, kapur pertanian, kotoran ayam. Sedangkan alat yang digunakan adalah kumbung jamur merang, kotak perlakuan dengan ukuran 75x75x25 cm. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok. Faktor pertama adalah ukuran cacahan (U) yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu cacahan kecil (U1), bonggol (U2), dan Utuh (U3). Faktor yang kedua adalah lama pengomposan yang terdiri dari 3 taraf yaitu 2 hari (L1), 6 hari (L2), dan 8 hari (L3). Masing – masing faktor dan perlakuan mengalami pengulangan (P) sebanyak 3 kali sehingga didapat 27 sampel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan ukuran cacahan (U) berpengaruh nyata terhadap parameter diameter, panjang, jumlah, dan bobot tubuh buah. Sedangkan lama pengomposan tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap semua parameter pengamatan yang telah dilakukan. Perlakuan utuh menghasilkan bobot dan jumlah jamur rata – rata tertinggi yaitu 2457 gram/m2 dan 218 buah/m2. Sedangkan perlakuan bonggol mempunyai panjang dan diameter rata – rata terbesar yaitu 3,00 dan 4,4 cm. Lama periode panen terlama adalah 13 hari pada perlakuan utuh. Sedangkan lama periode panen tersingkat adalah 12 hari pada perlakuan cacahan kecil. Secara keseluruhan, pecacahan media TKKS dapat menurunkan produktivitas jamur merang dan untuk lama pengomposan tidak berpengaruh terhadap produktivitas jamur merang. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the chopped size and the duration of composting of oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) the productivity of straw mushroom. This research was conducted in April - October 2017 at Integrated Field Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. The materials used were EFB, seeds of mushroom, rice bran, agricultural lime, chicken manure. While equipment used was mushroom house, treatment box with size 75x75x25 cm. This study used randomized complete block (RCB) with factorial arranggement. The first factor is chopped size (U) consisting of 3 levels ie small size (U1), medium (U2), and Whole (U3). The second factor is the duration of composting which consists of 3 levels is 2 days (L1), 6 days (L2), and 8 days (L3). Treatments were replicated (P) 3 times totalling 27 samples. The results showed that the treatment of the size (U) significantly affect the parameters of diameter, length, amount, and weight of fruit body. While the compostingduration did not significantly affected all parameters of the observations that have been made. Treatment of whole EFB produced highest weight and amount of mushroom by 2457 gram/m2 and 218 pieces/m2. While the treatment of medium size of EFB resulted in length and longest diameter by 3.00 and 4.4 cm. Harvest periods ranged 9 to 15 days, but there were no statistically significant different. Overall, the size reduction of EFB could decrease the productivity of straw mushroom, while the composting duration of EFB did not effect the productivity of straw mushroom.
