Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan suatu penelitian yang menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan analisis kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan strategi diversifikasi usaha terhadap profitabilitas, risiko investasi, dan reaksi investor pada perusahaan manufaktur yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia. Sampel pada penelitian ini diperoleh dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Berdasarkan kriteria yang ada, diperoleh 63 perusahaan manufaktur yang menjadi sampel penelitian. Metode analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Penelitian ini juga menggunakan variabel kontrol yaitu ukuran perusahaan, tingkat hutang, dan tingkat pertumbuhan penjualan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa variabel diversifikasi usaha memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap profitabilitas dan reaksi investor. Sedangkan variabel diversifikasi usaha tidak berpengaruh terhadap risiko investasi. Kata kunci: Diversifikasi Usaha, Profitabilitas, Reaksi Investor, Risiko Investasi. abstract This research is a research using descriptive method with quantitative analysis that aims to analyze the influence of business diversification to profitability, investment risk, and investors’ reaction in manufacturing companies that listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The samples of this research are obtained by using purposive sampling method. Based on the criteria, obtained 63 manufacturing companies as sample of this research. Analysis method which is used is the multiple regressions analysis. This research also uses control variable such as firm size, firm leverage and growth sales. The results of this study indicate that business diversification variable has positive effect on profitability and investors’ reaction. While business diversification variable has no effect on investment risk. Keywords: Business Diversification, Investment Risk, Investors’ Reaction Profitability.
