Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis aglomerasi industri pengolahan dan pengaruhnya terhadap perekonomian, serta mengukur kekuatan aglomerasi yang terjadi di Pulau Sumatera. Variabel bebas yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah aglomerasi, tenaga kerja, investasi dan ekspor. Metode penelitian menggunakan analisis data panel dengan pendekatan fixed effect model dan Indeks Balassa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa aglomerasi masih tergolong lemah, sehingga daerah tersebut bukan merupakan daerah aglomerasi industri. Hasil uji regresi data panel menunjukkan bahwa aglomerasi positif dan tidak signifikan, Investasi berpengaruh positif dan signifikan, Ekspor berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap perekonomian di Pulau Sumatera. Kata Kunci : Aglomerasi, Industri, Perekonomian, Pulau Sumatera. ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the agglomeration of the processing industry and its effects on the economy, as well as measure the agglomeration forces that occur on the island of Sumatra. The independent variables used in this research are agglomeration, labor, investment and export. The research method used data panel analysis with fixed effect model and Balassa Index. The results show that agglomeration is still relatively weak, so the area is not an industrial agglomeration area. The result of regression test of panel data showed that the agglomeration is positive and not significant. Investment has positive and significant effect. Export has positive and significant influence to the economy in Sumatera Island. Keyword : Agglomeration, Economy, Industrial, Sumatera Island.
