Abstract

This research was conducted to determine response of the parents minors who use motor vehicles in the village of Hajimena district of South Lampung Natar. In this type of research method used is qualitative research. Informants in this study were as many as 6 people informant. Determination of the informants in this study with purposive sampling technique and using in-depth interviews, observation, documentation as data collection techniques. Based on the results of this research is that the response of parents minors who use motor vehicles have to agree and disagree responses. The response from the parents agree the reason that they think by giving the motor vehicle facility saves time, cost and economic circumstances they are sufficient to provide motor vehicle facilities. While the response of parents who do not agree minors who use motor vehicles because they are very dangerous to themselves and minors who use the Transportation equipment in the Traffic Act has been violated because of their age are not old enough to meet the requirements of driving. So the role of parents in the care, educate and monitor minors is required and knowledge of parents about Traffic Laws so that they can know the dangers when minors are given facilities for motor vehicles. Keywords: Response Positive and Negative of The Parents Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui respon orang tua terhadap anak di bawah umur yang menggunakan kendaraan bermotor di Desa Hajimena Kecamatan Natar Kabupaten Lampung Selatan. Dalam penelitian ini jenis metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 6 orang informan. Penentuan informan dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik purposive sampling dan menggunakan wawancara mendalam, observasi, dokumentasi sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa respon orang tua terhadap anak di bawah umur yang menggunakan kendaraan bermotor ini memiliki respon setuju dan tidak setuju. Respon setuju dari orang tua alasannya bahwa menurut mereka dengan memberikan fasilitas kendaraan bermotor itu menghemat waktu, biaya dan keadaan ekonomi mereka yang cukup untuk memberikan kendaraan bermotor. Sedangkan respon orang tua yang tidak setuju anak di bawah umur yang menggunakan kendaraan bermotor dikarenakan sangat membahayakan diri mereka dan anak di bawah umur yang menggunakan kendaraan bemotor itu dalam Undang-Undang Lalu Lintas sudah melanggar dikarenakan umur mereka yang belum cukup umur untuk memenuhi persyaratan berkendara. Jadi peran orang tua dalam menjaga, mendidik dan mengawasi anak sangat diperlukan serta pengetahuan orang tua tentang Undang-Undang Lalu Lintas agar mereka bisa mengetahui bahaya apabila anak di bawah umur diberikan fasilitas kendaraan bermotor.
